Reply to Sam Sorry Sam, don't know the answer to those questions. Generally it's pretty easy to get around using regular Jeepneys and Tricycles but it helps to have plenty of time. Renting one is an option but it may be hard to negotiate a fair price.
Nice Place I just went there and it was beautiful, the surf cranks if u understand the reefs and the breaks around the area. even a direct onshore. I got a 4-5 foot barrel on a reef a san jose, that was very gnarly and standing up for about 30 meters. I dont think I have ever had this wind and that decent a wave anywhere in the world. I am going back to live. Hahahaha See yáll there

Puraran Trip I'm a Catanduanes Island native, and never been to Puraran. I have been living in the U.S. for a long time. I've heared about Puraran, but never had the chance to visit it. On my next trip to the island, Puraran will definitely be one of the place to visit! Thank you for posting your beautiful pics! I also want to tell you that you bargain real well. Good job!
Great pictures! The Mayon volcano (especially), as always dominate the landscape when you are in Catanduanes Island looking across the gulf. I remember all the drawings I had in grade school when the teacher asked us to draw. Seeing your pictures bring back memories. I miss the natural beauty of the Catanduanes Island! Great job Glen. Keep it up. Thank you!
Cell numbers Sorry I don't have any numbers, I stayed in Daet at Dolores and it was OK. There is accomodation at the beach, I think it's a bit more expensive though.
Enquiry Hi Sam, I don't know the phone number or even if they have the phone connected. I don't think you need to book unless you were going during the peak surf season - September to November.

Lots of Changes for the Better There are a lot of new things going on Marinduque today. Latest news on improvements are detailed in the provincial website, among the new improvements are Zestair service from Manila and the opening of Cawit seaport. There are a couple of modern hotels as well as modern beach resorts in the province. Among the beach resorts attracting tourists from abroad is the Chateau Du Mer Beach Resort in Amoingon www.chateaudumer.com
Life is Good! Glen, your travel blogs are always a joy to read that takes me to the location even for that moment! Your surfing is fun to watch like a pro with Eleanor in the background enjoying the scenery. What else is there to ask, Life is Good!
Things to bring Hi Jenny, depends on what your plans are. If you want to see the higher parts like some of the volcanoes, you'll need to bring a jacket or sweater. Apart from that just shorts, tea shirts and swimmers of course. You can hire snorkelling gear so no need to bring that, a good guide book also helps.
Regards,
Glen
