Apologies for my tardiness Sorry about the delay in posting the final day's blog, but by not posting it made it seem a little like I was still on holiday.
Hey...................where are you? There's no entries since the 19th. It has been very interesting reading about your journey and looking at the photos. I like how you colour co-ordinated your tent with your bike.
Lack of things aquatic First, platypuses, now water. It seems that Australia is not well endowed in the aquatic department. A Catalina Flying Boat at the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum? You astound me, sir.
Hey, St Greggie The morning was cold and lonely, the city lights old and grey, the sun arose trying to smile, gave it all away. Not much on the horizon - sounds like my personal life.
"Staying with good friends" AND???
Small technicality regarding the convict-built culvert. Did they build the culvert (which would be hard to do, seeing as it's made of air which is nobody's fault, not even the convicts') or did they build the wall around the culvert?
it is good to know you are well Greg, sounds like you have had fun there even the weather is not as good as you expected. How far you drove away from us totally?
Keep trying to go out and get fresh air. But please drive safe.
Pray for the good weather coming on your way.
Sarah
Onwards (and upwards) If you had walked far enough North, you would eventually have come to Sydney but, like all walks, you would have had to walk back so it was wise to retrace your steps when youd did, thereby avoiding emulating Harold Holt.
A propos of Central Tilba, I believe Mt Dromedary is inappropriately named. May I suggest 'Mt-Doesn't-Really-Look-Like-A-Dromedary-At-All' or 'Mt Woman-Reclining'
HA HA HA Poor Greg,
Sarah and I both had a small giggle reading this update, we could just imagine greg's excitement upon entering the cheese factory just to have his hopes and dreams squashed. Imagine the face of disapointment, and greg nibbling free cheese like a sad little mouse.
Uncontaminated by platypuseses The photos are superb. The one of Abandoned Railway Station (where is Abandoned anyway?) is particularly evocative. (Note to self: look up the word 'evocative'). Sorry to hear the Platypus Reserve was uncontaminated by platypuseses. Or is that platypi?
Another Skill Hey Grey,
Sounds like your having a wonderful time, i love the photos your not a bad photographer and quite a good detailed wrighter. Who knew! So now for lunch time quizes can we put you down for French painters expert? Have fun and keep safe, also butch said if stuff like your memory cards keep frying in the heat if they are in your plastic gear sack, buy a sun shade that you would normally put in your car to cover the dash etc and stick it to the outside of the gear sack because it will reflect the heat. Good Luck
Beautiful tracts of land I'm enjoying the visual tour of the Alpine regions. (You forgot to delete 'Lonely Planet Images' from one of your photos). The scenery is truly scenic, with many magnificent Alp-like objects. Looking forward to the next instalment.
A Good Start It is a good start - I like the ice-cream especially - but you must now keep going and place Day 3 before Day 2 (but a little bit higher so there's a nice two-level effect with a path running between them) and cut down the mightiest Mountain Ash in the forest wiiiiiiiiith a herring.
Bright WOO!! YAY FOR HOLIDAYS!!
If you're going to Bright, I simply MUST insist that you go to Le Blanche IceCreamery, homeplace of the world's BEST gelati!! Strawberry, pineapple, watermelon, raspberry, blackberry, peach, mango, apple pie... the list of favourites is limitless... Tell them Laura says hi and is suffering withdrawal symptoms =)
Hope you're having fun!!
Laura xx
