This morning I decided that the campsite was good and the thought of a swim in the river was tempting so I decided to stay another night in Bright. The river water was cold (but not chilly) and I spent most of the day altenating between swimming in the river and lying on the grass in the shade of the riverbank trees.

For lunch I paid a visit to the Ice-Creamery - an establishment which had been higly recommended to me as the best place in town. I can report that their ice-creams are very good and the staff are friendly, but in my opinion the best place in town would have to be the pub which served me a continuous supply of cold beer last night. The Ice-Creamery would probably rate a close second.

The town today appears almost deserted, with very few people about. This is apparently a vast difference to the situation on the Australia Day weekend when I've been told it was bursting at the seams. Score 1 to me for missing the crowds.

A Good Start
It is a good start - I like the ice-cream especially - but you must now keep going and place Day 3 before Day 2 (but a little bit higher so there's a nice two-level effect with a path running between them) and cut down the mightiest Mountain Ash in the forest wiiiiiiiiith a herring.
