I just realised I missed my stop, i have no money, no phone and I´m dreading to go to Barranquilla by night in those conditions. I don't know exactly how far Barranquilla is but in a way I'm looking forward to get there. I'm crossing my fingers, hoping that Barranquilla's terminal bus has a cash point. But I doubt it... I don't really want to go to the city center with my massive backpack in back. It s like a big sign saying "gringo", "turista", victima"... Suddenly I'm distracted from my negative thoughts by a group of street vendors getting [View Full Entry]

I've got the impression I got ripped off but there is isn't a single cash point in the bus station, so once again I get a great bargain (yeah right), I´m getting good at this... Then, surprise! All the bus companies are asking 20000COP for the bus journey to Santa Marta. I'm 3000 short ( thanks Venezuela and your unexpected tax to leave the country by [View Full Entry]

( En francais en bas de page) This is it. The 3 months adventure around South America has just started for me. After a pretty uneventful journey (although I still wonder how Nick and I , made in on time to Heathrow airport despite the police stopping us) I made it to Caracas safely. First impression it´s hot, really humide! I spent my 1st night here yesterday and am now waiting for my bus to Colombia. I spent most of the day walking around Caracas, trying not to look like a tourist (many people are black or mixed race here so [View Full Entry]
