Coming from hot and sunny Fiji, Christchurch was a bit like stepping into a freezer. In fact, just outside the airport was the International Antarctic Centre. very fitting!!! So, gone are the boardies and bikinis and instead it is on with the fleeces and longjohns. Accompanying us on our South Island extravaganza was Becky's twin sister Laura. Poor Gregor, he now had to put up with double the trouble. Our chosen method of transport around this part of New Zealand was a hired campervan, an "Ezy Charga", which we affectionately nicknamed Bunty. This meant no escape for Gregor, as everyone was together 24/7!!! Driving Bunty was like driving jelly on wheels, thanks to the chassis being half the size of the camper section. Despite the rather questionable handling we actually grew to rather like her.
