Only a few days later and in comparison to the earlier entries, a lot has been seen and done!! From Isla Mujeres we left with a ferry at 10 am and got to cancun just half an hour later or so, from the port we took the bus to the station and were able to get a bus straight away to Valladolid, a small colonial city from where we could easily make our way to Chichen Itza and move on to Merida in the Yucatan state. Our first stop: Isla Mujeres: (island of women) We are staying in a really nice and funky hostel on the beach (Poc Na) on this very backpacker island (plenty of Americans during the day too although most just come over for the day from the Cancun resorts)....very colourful houses and the backpackers we´ve met are much more international than in Cancun. Most are also surprised to hear we actually spent two nights in Cancun..most have come here straight from the airport, or are just ending their trip here...and don´t spend a night in Cancun at all. Hello All!! After a long flight to Atlanta and a lot of meals and snacks followed by a short flight to Cahn-Cooon (the purser´s pronunciation, not ours) we arrived at our hostel (Chac-Mool) in Downtown Cancun around 8pm. It´s nice and humid, around 30 degrees, a nice change from the Dutch rain :) We had yet another little snack and went to bed, and had no trouble falling asleep. A new chapter to my travelblog!! (Slightly delayed posting as usual) Me and Simone (younger sister) had decided it was time to take a break from our busy studies and booked a lastminute - splurged a little - and that's how we ended up in Egypt 2 weeks later! Bonjour!!! Our week in Montreal has been great.... Just out of camp where days and nights off are limited and it's difficult to coordinate to have these days with your friends, we're now altogether in this beautiful city. Howdy everyone, What a strange thought that my 10 weeks here at camp are over as of tomorrow!!! It's been a great summer again, we've had great weather, great campers, and after all the sicknesses at the barn we were left with 7 great horses too! For the last week I was a counselor in Cabin Z. Howdy everyone!! Haven't written for a long time but I will update you all on my camp lifestyle and routine. There really isn't a big change to what we do every week you see, apart from special days but I'll get to that later. And we share the computer between around 50 staff members so I don't have a lot of time to write either! So much time has passed and what a change from Costa Rica!!! After the flights and delays I finally got to La Guardia at around 2.30am, by then a pretty deserted airport. With luck not really on my side, my backpack lost somewhere between Atlanta and New York, the SuperShuttle not turning up for another 2 hours I decided I would rather pay 40 dollars for a cab than wait!
