Is cool. Very cool. Don't know why I didn't start earlier because I'm loving this. More than a week since that last entry and yet it feels like way longer, I've done so much and met so many people. Spent a few more days in Amsterdam with Salim, first night in quite a nice hotel but with a grumpy man. After a lot of free breakfast we set out to find a cheaper place and ended up for the next few nights at Aivengo Hostel, tucked away just near Centraal station. Only 18€ (yes, the sign comes after the number, weird I know) and with free internet. Met a few cool people, wandered around the city doing touristy things, getting lots in the identical little streets with canals and bridges and spending all our money on ... read more

It's 9am. It's raining. I'm in Amsterdam and it is cool. Flew here yesterday from Bristol where I had enjoyed sitting in the sunshine and walking (literally) down memory lane (streets where I grew up). Easyjet wasn't so bad as people have been saying, sure there's not much legroom and the air hostesses don't smile but hey, that's why it's a cheap flight. Everything I type is being underlined in red because the Dutch computer obviously just thinks I'm crazy. Feels weird because I hate spelling mistakes. Everyone else is still asleep luckily for them. Today I think we're just gonna do some sightseeing round Amsterdam, hopefully someone was sensible enough to bring an umbrella... Last Laugh: Err probably just the whole of last night, I love these people. ... read more

Went shopping today in Milton Keynes, it was cool. Also went to this school (which apparently has a pretty rough reputation) with my uncle and had to join in his presentation about careers and jobs and interviews, which was scary but also cool. (Weird being back in a school too, some of those kids were so tiny). Then this evening walked to the local Tesco to attend a rally about the 'Living Wage' and actually came quite close to getting in trouble with the cops without realising. All in all it has been good :) Quite enjoying the city after spending the last wee while in the English countryside. Activities included drinks at the pub, picnics on hills, church fairs, tennis games, playing Risk, rain, watching Bambi with my little cousin (twice!) and eating lots of ... read more

Have spent the last week away from all internet in beautiful Prussia Cove, Cornwall, but I'm sure you all survived without hearing from me! Despite the not-so-great weather it was fantastic, lovely to catch up with everyone and getting to meet cousins who were just babies last time I was here. Lots of swimming, football and eating took place, plus revision for the big kids (good luck in your last few weeks of exams guys, hope I didn't distract you too much!). I tried to take lots of pictures, who knows next time we'll all be back there. Day that I left London was pretty exciting too, as with the help of a bus and Google maps I managed to meet up with Salim! I took a video of me getting hopelessly lost on the way ... read more

Well I'm not actually sure if I am in Muswell Hill, but thats where I ended up when I got the wrong bus, so I"m presuming it must be fairly close. It's 5.58am and I'm kinda pissed off to be awake when I was so tired last night, probably should try harder to go back to sleep but it's just so hot and light. Looks like it's going to be another beautiful day, yesterday was boiling. I ended up going with Martha to the open air theatre in Regent's Park. This meant taking the bus (W3) and two tubes (Piccadily and Circle lines) so was quite glad to be able to follow her instead of having to make the decisions myself. Once we got there the park was just lovely. I'd sort of forgotten this side ... read more

You know, I've taken English lessons for the last 13 years, I've learnt how to write everything from acrostics to narratives, but still feel completely unprepared for writing this blog. In fact, what the hell does Blog even mean? Pretty weird word if you ask me. I suppose there's no harm in trying, so lets just see what happens... Sixty hours to go and I'm feeling kinda at a loss. It's still too early to start packing so instead everything is just in piles on my floor. Been having a flick through a couple of Lonely Planet guides but seeing as I don't really know where I'm going they're not much use. Think I'm about half way through my goodbyes to various people and they're probably the weirdest part, it just doesn't feel like I'm going ... read more
