Well here goes anoararther hit or miss entry. I will have fun finding all these when I get home if they havent gone through. We are in Bratislava an old Austro Hungarian town that became the capital in C14th then lost it then regained it etc for about the next 400 years. It is a quaint town right on the Danube and has some car manufacturers and a bit of crystal making but apparently the whole country is expecting dire consequences when the crunch really come. I still dont know if any of this is getting through but at least Im practising my typing. Well i am in Linz, a very pretty city on the danube river. It has been nominated the cultural capital of europe for the year 2009 so many new buildings relating to art ,music,electronic art etc have been constructed with efficiency for this great honour. Some of them are along the riverbank just like Southbank but they are all floodlit with often the colours changing every two minutes or so. Hi everyone. Not sure if these are going through but here goes again. We are berthed at the moment in the Main -Danube Canal as our evening entertainment has just got off . They were an oom pah pah band and we had a great night singing drinking songsand linking arms and swaying and all that. It is not only expected but downright compulsary or so they say. The feelings aboard are terrific and I cant fault a thing. We had a lovely morning in Nuremberg. Hi everyone. I am sitting doing this before I go to a performance of Strauss and Mozart music at the Vienna State Opera.{as you do} Vienna is an amazing city .The architecture is just like the top end of Collins st. only magnified many times. We are docked about ten minutes from town centre along the Danube which is definitely not blue today. There is a lot of shipping and polution is starting to set in but it still has a romantic notion about it.
