We then headed to Fethiye for two nights to celebrate Em's birthday!! We were able to explore the nearby Ghost town which was abandoned by the Greek people after the fall of the Otoman Rule and the turkish people who moved into the area did not inhabit the area. Theres all the old building just left to crumble.. it's pretty creepy! we were also able to climb up to a point where we could look over the Mediterranean sea.. so beautiful! After this we went to a turkish bath and got a good scrub down! ... read more

We made it to Turkey and immediate took a night bus down to olympos. We stayed in this hilarious two story shack... we were just so happy to lay down in a bed after our crazy turkish night bus haha. We spent one night in this town exploring the old ruins nearby and we also went up to the Eternal flames at night. On this random hilltop theres natural gas that comes out of the rocks, they light it on fire and it's so amazing to see especially at night. This is actually where the idea for the Olympic flame came from!... read more

We then made our way to Rhodes to stay for 3 nights. This is such a super cool city, on the Coast there is an old medieval city with huge walls and everything that people actually still live in! the buildings and houses and so cool, and these tiny little cobblestone streets teach you to jump in a doorway FAST if a car is coming towards you! We met another Canadian on the Ferry, so with him we wandered the streets of the old city trying to find a hostel. We ended up getting completely lost and stumbling into a nice hotel, when we asked about the price it was SO CHEAP! so we stayed in this amazing room! That day we explored the old city, getting lost in the crazy confusing streets and trying to ... read more

After we returned from our Jungle trek and had long amazing showers, we headed out on the town with our new Italian friend. We went for dinner, and thai massages! It was our first traditional massage, and we were a little worried at first because we heard that they could be a little rough, but it turns out to be totally relaxing! It's so different than anything we've experiences before, it involves a lot of stretching and deep massage using their elboew, forearms and even feet! They believe in a energy line that runs throughout the body, and they work along this line to increase energy flow, it's amazing, you actually feel your body grow warm and relax. After we stumbled out of the massage place we headed to the Night Markets. I can't even begin ... read more

We did a 3 day trek through the mountains. This was our main highlight, so far anyways! The first day we left early to go elephant riding. There was three of us on one elephant, it was so hilarious!! Our elephant kept spraying us with.. who knows what.. because it was trying to cool itself off. At one point, the elephant actually screeched because there was a little snake in it's way. After having lunch we started our trek. The first day was mostly uphill, tough.. it was about a 3 hour hike up into the jungle! Such beautiful views, and we actually went up into a hill tribe to see where they lived. This was so amazing to see a different way of life. This community was called 'Karen' tribe, the people were originally from ... read more

After spending one night in Bangkok, we took an overnight bus up to Chiang Mai. We are currently still in Chiang Mai and love it! The first day we went to see a temple where 300 steps lead to the temple, which is highest in the mountains. The next day, we went on a 3 day trek through the jungle with a group of 13 people. This was one of the most exciting things we've ever experienced. After arriving back in the city, we have spent our time exploring the night markets, traveling to a monkey school and seeing tigers.. Ohh, and eating Thai Food!... read more
