Well, by now, most of you know that we made it back. London was a little hairy given the terrorist plot, but we made it out (we had a three hour delay, which given the circumstances, we didn't think was too bad. In case you're wondering, the reason we didn't blog from the Seychelles was because we didn't have Internet access. We stayed on the island of Pralin, which is remote and pretty sparce from a population standpoint. We loved it. The Seychelles must be what Hawaii was like 50 years ago. We now have had our pictures developed and have been watching our videos. They all turned out pretty darned good. We are getting back into the swing of things things here at home now that the effects of jet lag are lessening. Thanks for ... read more

Well, we made it safe and sound out of Africa. Boy, what a trip so far. We are now on the island of Mauritius -- it's beautiful. Weather is so-so. Cloudy, but a lot of sun too. We were thoroughly impressed with Africa. Friendly people -- at least where we were -- who were anxious to tell us about their lives. And the wildlife....WOW! It must be like what Lewis and Clark experienced when they travelled in North America 200 years ago. Herds and herds of animals and a lot of different species. The last day, we saw a Leopard and her cub on the way to the airstrip. Joyce got teary when we lifted off from the Okavango. Well, cheers for now. The Internet here keeps going down, so I will have to sign off. ... read more

Hello, everyone. We have just spent three days just outside Chobe National Park, which is spectacular. (We are in a small town named Kasane and staying in a Lodge on the Chobe River.) We've seen just about all the big animals one can see in Africa, including the Big 5. We checked off Lion and Leopard in the past three days in our game drives in the park. There are no fences between the park and the town, so one is taking their life into their own hands if they walk the streets at night. (We haven't!) :-) Zach and Bill went fishing yesterday on the Chobe River. Zach caught two Tiger Fish (the most famous fresh water game fish in Southern Africa) They are known for their fighting. Bill caught nothing, but still managed to ... read more

We made it to S. Africa and boy did we have a blast in the Hluhluwe Imfalozi Game Reserve. We saw 3 of the Big 5 within 5 minutes of entering the park. Those are the Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant. Saw tons of animals but no cats. We're waiting to see those in Chobe, I guess. We did see 3 African Wild Dogs -- twice. That is a very rare sight as there are only 35 in the park and 500 in all of S. Africa. The lodge we stayed at was very nice with "over-the-top" quality food. Brady stuck to pasta for pretty much the entire time. In addition to the animals listed above, we saw tons of birds and many different kinds of antelope, zebras, giraffe, warthog, crocs, monkeys, baboons. They were all extremely ... read more

We made it to London safely and had a great time. We are about ready to head to Johannesburg tonight. Saw all the top sights Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Kessington Palace, The London Eye, Harrods -- no royalty though. Darn. It's pretty hot for here -- about 85 degrees. We've walked a ton -- probably 10 miles over the three days. Saw our friends Miles, Sara and Deanna. Sara made us a dinner to die for. London is beautiful -- very crowded and full of tourists. All the cars and flats are tiny by comparison to American standards. I figured out why Americans are so fat!! We tend to take up our physical space -- we live in large homes. Here it be tough to be big. We'll check in again as soon as we can. ... read more
