Couldn't disagree with you more
We were in Hiroshima the weekend before you and we did find the peace park and the museum moving, however we didn't think that the city exploited such an atrocity at all. How any guide could suggest a sense of history in a city that was obliterated only 62 years ago seems idiotic, but then again if your guide book considers anything from before 1945 to be ancient history then it is understandable. If the city exploited the bomb drop from tourists then why was entrance to the museum only 50yen - hardly enough to cover the running costs of the museum let alone exploit a profit. Just what else where you referring to as random things to take money from tourists?
