Ok. So ya. Sorry about the wait on the post just been a busy couple of days. Right now I am a couple miles away from the most amazing water fall(s) I could ever imagine. We are here in the town of Puerto Iguazu- a small dirty town that now that it is in the off season we can tell just gets ran-sacked by tourist in their summer and then they leave and the people are just trying to live normal lives until next summer- we are just 25 minutes away from the nation park and the falls. The park wasnt that bad we saw some neat wild-life and some beautiful landscape and vegatation. But the Falls! Dios Mio!!!!!! (thats what everyone says) they were so amazing. The shear force of all that water is unlike anything. I could hear it much further away then I could see it and the first thing you see looks like steam bellowing from a gap in the ground. They call the main fall are the Devils Throat and I think that might be why.
We started this trip in the crazy yet calm city of Buenos Aires. I really liked the cafe culture, becuase it is what we like to do on trips anyway, its neat becuase everyone else does too. They ll go to a cafe/lunch/dinner and sit there for hours maybe by the selves until someone they know eventually shows up and they will sit and talk for even longer. It was really neat to see. The city itselfs spilt up into different sections/large neighborhoods/Burros kinda like New York City but more dramatic. So cross a main street from one and on the other side might be completly different style. We stayed in an area call San Telmo and it had neat brightly colored buildings and cobbled streets. Cross the main street and we would be in the newly renovated port, that now holds new large business buildings and actually a pretty large ecological reserve, that it seems like the business men like to run in durring their long lunches.
Randy has done a really good job of being social this trip. I just try and keep up, Im getting better but not like him. We have met new people all the time, from all shorts of countries. One day we spent the morning with a Chilean from Norway (haha ya it was funny, he was born in Chile, but lived mostly in Norway) he had been living in B.A. for three months so he told us a little about it. After we said goodbye to him we ran into a man from Paraguay but works in a town north of BA and just taking his one day off to see the city. He was extreamly nice, and showed us a lot. He didnt speak much english so we got some good free spanish lessons. At the end of the day he help us get a South American bus pass that I I dont know how we would have done without him. Very nice man, all thanks to randys social aproach.
Anyway, we are about to take a bus to Sante Fe (couldnt get another bus to anywhere else in the right time frame) we dont know what is there becuase our large travel book doesnt even mention the name.... haha. So it will be fun. Hope I can post more soon.
