Out of Touch for the Weekend Just a quick note to let everyone know that we will be at Manuel Antonio National Park (on the Pacific coast) for the weekend. There likely will be no internet access, so there will be no more blog entries until next an week and iPhones may not be working to call home. You just never know how the access will be in the remote locations. Everyone have a great weekend!
Hi I'm Jory Neff's mother Glad you all made it safe it sound. And thank you for keeping us updated. It's a Godsend for me to be able to hear how all is going on this trip. Thank you!!!!
My pleasure. Sorry that Jory's host family whisked him away before I could get a picture. We will get more good ones of him! Thanks for reading/looking!
Hi from the ASU Dean's Office! It looks as though all of you are enjoying a wonderful time in Costa Rica. Thank you to Dr. Ruth Owens for putting together another successful summer trip. The beautiful locations, friendly people, and scrumptious-looking food make me want to join you. I know that you are beginning to think about your return to the U.S.A., but much of what you've learned during your stay in Costa Rica will be a part of your lives from this point on.
Best wishes to all of you,
Dr. O'Connor
Interim Dean, Humanities & Social Sciences
Captions under photos I just wanted everyone to know that Erica wrote the main body of this blog entry, but I wrote the captions under the photos. That's because I uploaded the photos and videos while she was writing. It just occurred to me that it looked kind of funny this way and maybe I should explain. Dr. O.
Had connection problems and computer issues Sorry to everyone that it took so long to get the first entry posted. I had some connection problems (slow and intermittent) and a variety of little computer issues. That is to be expected, but this was worse than usual. Thank you for your patience.

No hurricanes here now No, Alex didn't affect us at all. We weren't even aware of it until it hit the Cancun area. On the other hand, we do get daily rain, since it's the rainy season here, but we have been very lucky. During our time here, has never rained for more than a couple of hours straight and certainly not for several days in a row. Let's hope that our good luck holds for the rest of the week!
WELCOME to ASU in Costa Rica 2013!
This year, there are 12 students in the ASU Study Spanish in Costa Rica group. The students will be studying Spanish at el Centro Panamericano de Idiomas (CPI) and will live with families in San Joaquin and in Monteverde, Costa Rica, for a month this summer. If you are interested in seeing pictures and reading about what the group is doing in Costa Rica, this is the place for you! Each new entry will be at the top (just scroll down from here), and entries much further down are from the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 programs. To see all of the pic... full info
