Geo: -15.84, -70.05April 4, 2010We arrived in Puno early this morning after a short air flight from Arequipa. It is a lovely little town of around 100,000. There is a main square area and a nice walking street with shop etc. Many of the locals can be seen wearing their traditional attire. Puno is high in elevation 12,500 feet. When we arrived we were given Coca tea to drink and Coca leaves to chew. This is to help with altitude sickness. The weather here is a little cooler then the areas we have been. Tomorrow we will go out on Lake Titicaca and visit some floating reed islands.April 5, 2010We have just returned from an amazing day out on Lake Titicaca. Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world. We started our day with ... read more

They were really something to see. We then visited an ancient cemetery with mummies that are over 700 years old. For lunch we enjoyed a traditional Peruvian meal, which is cooked in a pit in the ground. It was delicious, especially the sweet potatoes!April 2, 2010Today we travelled a long road trip from Nasca to Arequipa. Geo: 10.6735, -85.2028Hello From Costa Rica. We arrived here late Sunday night after a plane delay in Dallas. We spent our first night in a nice B&B not far from the International Airport. The next morning we flew from the municipal airport to an area in Costa Rica called LaFortuna. Surrounding LaFortuna is a rainforest area which is quite jungly, warm and humid. We rented a car in LaFortuna and drove to our wonderful accomodation called Lost Iguana. We have a great room with an amazing view of the Arenal Volcano. Today we visited some hanging bridges where you can venture out high above the canopy. We saw a toucan, macaw, red tree frog and some amazing scenery.... read more
