Putrajaya Asia » Malaysia
Putrajaya - a beautifully planned city, where most of the Government buildings are. There are large man-made bodies of water, and amazing bridges. And each street has a different lamp post design - not one is the same. Such a methodical and designed city... [View Full Entry]

Brunei Asia » Brunei
well, from malaysia to brunei. wow!! ever since i have been friends with foo, i have always wanted to go to brunei. i got there and couldn't quite believe i was there! what a spin out! we took a charter flight (air asia, which is the asian equivalent of virgin blue) from kl... no food, no allocated seats, and.... no air conditioning!! how we survived i'm not quite sure. the flight landed in labuan, malaysia, and from there we had to take a ferry to brunei. we arrived at the port - definitely an experience! now in case you're wondering, you [View Full Entry]

Melaka Asia » Malaysia » Melaka » Melaka City
On a whim we decided we needed to see a little more of Malaysia than just KL, so we jumped on a bus to Melaka. An absolutely beautiful place, about 2 hours drive by bus from Kuala Lumpur. In Melaka, the influence of the Portugese, Dutch and British is still plain to see. Quaint little shops and multi-coloured trishaws are all over the place... Of course, the trishaws have sub-woofers installed somewhere amongst the floral decorations - and they play Beyonce and the like - which we found quite amusing!! :) [View Full Entry]

Of course, there's more to Malaysia than food and shopping, though like I said before, it is definitely worthwhile visiting just for that! The Petronas Twin Towers were an amazing sight. They are the tallest twin towers in the world, and were the tallest buildings I hear, until Shanghai built something taller. I won't go into the whole history of the building, I will let the photos do the talking.. They are an amazing architectural accomplishment as well, standing 452m above ground level!!! We went up to the Skybridge linking the two buildings as well - 170m above street level, the [View Full Entry]

KL is definitely a shopper's paradise without a doubt - girls, if for nothing else, it is worthwhile going just to see the shoes!!!!! amazing! and the food is a different story altogether. so cheap, so so tasty.... aaaaahh :) 5 days in KL with 5 (pretty large) meals a [View Full Entry]
