After my reasonably pleasant journey on the VIP coach (the rest were fully booked) it was 5.30am when i arrived at the bus station. a woman immediately took my bag, put it in her little trolly and wheeled it to the taxi rank, this must be part of the VIP ticket i thought.........Wrong. for wheeling my bag no more than 30 meters she wanted 50baht, i gave 60 and recieved no change, this was a pre cursor for what i soon came to learn was the way of Bangkok! so after the madness of ko pha ngan it was off to ko tao for a much needed break. the taxi picked me up from right outside my bungalow to take me to the pier, which was sweet as it was an early boat and i was knackered! i spent the journey talking to a Canadian girl who quite handilly knew of a nice place to stay and after a 15 minute walk, sweatin with my oversized backpack, we got to sairee cottages which were nice even if the staff were extremely impersonal. i had expected to find a very laid [View Full Entry]

sorry i havnt blogged for a while the net has been pretty expensive where ive been so far but luckily there is a bar in Hat Rin in ko phangan currently called Moonlight Cafe soon to be Kaonashi ran by a very safe guy named Jo, who picks up free wi fi and kindly lets me use his computer. there are big plans for this place and will soon be the best bar in ko phanang by far so anyone reading this comin to hat rin i reccomend dropping by, the food is also very good! u can find it on [View Full Entry]

just got time to put some more pics on from my time in penang this is more of a city with some expensive resorts in the north that lead onto the apparently polluted sea than a tropical island. there are some nice temples and the trip to the butterfly park was pretty cool. more temples to see tomorrow and hopefully some nice scenery at Penang hill so more to come. the night after i watched the spurs bolton game in the jungle (i couldnt believe it either) we set off at 8.30am for the Perhentian island of kecil which means small the other besar means large and also reffers to the size of the pockets you need to go there! so 2 coaches and a speed boat later...... ol and a small boat to take us to the shore from the big boat as there is no port and definately no airport we had to take off our shoes and carry our luggage through the water about 10 meters to the [View Full Entry]

I am currently 3 hours boat ride up a jungle river in Taman Negara which is the most ancient rainforest in the world, 15 million years if i remember rightly! believe it or not i am in an internet cafe ( a shack with 3 computers in it with a dial up connection) however the next place i am going, the Perentian Islands apparently dont have anything, i think that this is here because of the tourists........... being the oldest jungle and all they get quite a few. only prob is that they dont have a card reader for my camera's [View Full Entry]

didnt realise that 3 days have passed since i last wrote! got the night train from singapore then got an early night last night to recover from all the sleep i havnt had since. . . . well since i left basically. been out and about today seein what K.L has to offer which to be honest isnt much. went to the petronas towers which are apparently the highest twin towers in the world?, saw a massive market selling mainly imported crafts from china and borneo which was quite cool but everything was still pretty expensive in realtion to asian prices.. ok so half a book and a meal later i landed at Dubai airport after having had about 2 hours of broken sleep due to someone behind me constantly banging my chair.
