Just got back from Al Taji. Spend the 17th to the morning of the 19th there. Al Taji Army Airfield is located approximately 27 kilometers Northwest of downtown Baghdad, at the town of Taji. There is a lot of enermy activit outside the wire. The first night there mortors were coming in and going out. The facility is massive as you see in the photos there is also a grave yard for hundreds of Iraqi takes and Artillery from Saudams regime. Here I am the morning of Father's Day in front of a Mosque that is off limits. It is across the street from my HQ's. I'm scheduled to take a flight out to another base tonight or tomorrow. I'll have some pictures and the location after I return. I'm sure it will be interesting. [View Full Entry]

Iraq Trip Jay I left to Iraq today from ATL to Shannon, Ireland then lastly Kuwait. At Kuwait I took a Convoy up to an US air base to fly up to Balad, Iraq. Morning, June 14th I'm now in Shannon, Ireland for a short lay over. It is weird because when we got off the plane everyone here clapped. We were all in uniform and they apparently love us, the U.S., for what we are doing for the middle east. The lay over is suppose to be just for a hour. That sucks.
