FRIDAY 23 FEBRUARY: Well, I have arrived into Guigang and I could not have wished for a better school, apartment or teachers. Guigang is very clean, quite modern from what I have seen, with wide roads and friendly people. The school is very small, 950 students compared to some of the others that have around 6000 students, the class sizes are 36 - 40 compared to some other school that have up to 100. It is hard to put everything I see, hear, taste and experience into words. I went for a 'hair wash' yesterday. My hair was washed while sitting in the chair opposite the mirror, I received a wonderful head and neck massage for about 20 minutes then I was headed over to the wash basin where I lay down on a comfy leather bed with my head on a leather pillow inside the wash basin, the shampoo and condition was rinsed out and afterward I was asked how I would like my hair blowdried.. $3 and 45 minutes later my hair was [View Full Entry]

After meeting Damien at Bangkok Airport we caught a plane straight to Krabi which is south Thailand the gateway to the islands on the west side of Thailand. We decided to go to Ko Phi Phi and stayed for 4 nights. It was wonderful to relax in the sun. drinking, eating, swimming - the water was so warm. I have been staying in guest houses that only have cold water so the warm sea felt a little strange on my body. The first day we just laid around, checked out the island. Yes i was attacked by an evil Monkey in Lop buri... more on that later!! Sukhothai Historial Park was really really beautiful. It was about a 20 minute local bus ride out to the historial Park. I hired a bike and strolled (can you stroll on a bike???) well peddled slowly anyway. Weather warm, sky blue, grass green and freshly manicured. After a couple of hours cruising around i came to a Massage House....... I was in Vientiane, Lao about to cross the Laos / Thailand border via a huge bridge that crosses the Mekong called the Friendship Bridge, financed by Australia at the end of my last blog.... I spent a couple more days in Chiang Mai as I was really enjoying their way of life, the people are beautiful and it is a very relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Most days I would get my daypack and just walk to see what I could find. On my final day in Chiang Mai walk I met and spoke with many local people who approached me. even a gentleman from Japan came up to me for a chat.
