I'm an Eighties baby. I can't help it, can't control it and sometimes, if I am honest, revel in it! Especially today! Because tonight (is the night! and I'm feeling alright!) I am off to the "Here and Now" concert at Wembley, to see Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle and Bananarama, just to name a few. And the great thing is, I still know all the words because I spent hours and hours when I was little, singing away, into my hairbrush. Hilarious... So, while I'm saving all my love for yoooooou, I will also be expending a little of it tonight, [View Full Entry]

Ok, so before you get cranky, you all know I was going to have to pull out that line at some point. Here you are, the latest look. Might change again, but at least now you will recognise me! And, yes, I am hugging my teddy bear, deal with it. He rocks and loves me no matter what. And he is orange. So there! And yes, there will be London blogging shortly, but as a quick taster, there have been - * visits to Brighton, Stonehenge, Bath and Cambridge. * Indian -mmmnnn * Fish and chips, damn my ass is getting [View Full Entry]

Moi

Welcome back for your daily fruit intake. Now, what else is there to tell about my travels to New York? So, as you should know, Manhattan is an island so it is surrounded by water, much like Australia. Yes, I realise that Australia is little bigger, and that we have waves you can surf despite the rumours of waves at Rockaway Beach in Brooklyn, but it definitely has being an island in common with Australia. Anyway, because of the island factor, there are lots of piers and parks and complexing taking advantage of the rivers. Here are the couple I visited [View Full Entry]

So, finally, I am back in London and have a bit of time to up date you on the wonders of New York and the last almost four weeks of travel. Well, I arrived safely, as you know if you have been keeping up with your reading, and I was collected at the airport and whisked off to Manhattan. Carter, who I met while he was visiting Perth last year, had sorted out all my accomodation needs after we had spent some time hunting through Craigslist from opposite sides of the world for somewhere to stay. Seriously, as Bee can attest, [View Full Entry]

Temple of 2

My last day in New York. For a while at least. I am supposed to be excited to be moving on to my next adventure, "Europe here I come", that kind of thing, but nope, I am sad to be leaving. Leaving friends and family at home is hard, and I being away for the last couple of months has given me (and them!) some perspective on the meaningful. Leaving here is awful because I have friends here too, real friends who care about me, who I care about too. A lot. Over the last few weeks I have had some [View Full Entry]

So, back in the UK, safely collected and on the way to Grandmother's house, who, for future reference, is generally referred to as Nanny May. Nanny instead of grandmother and May, short for Mavis. Hence Nanny May. My other grandmonther's were all Nanny's too. Oh, and Nanny May is my Mum's mum. After an interesting ride we made it safe and sound, and I even managed to recognise some places along the way despite the fact it was really dark and clearly some things have changed since I was here last. Like the sea wall. Because due to recent (-ish) storms, [View Full Entry]

When we last spoke, Ness and I had just boarded the plane to Paris, flying to Beauvais airport. Now one thing that bothers me about budget airlines is that they don't give you a seat number. From what I can see, this doesn't save them time and only prolongs the pain of boarding a plane, people rushing to get on board, to get a seat and generally being annoying. Complete chaos. Why not just give everyone a seat number? Is it really going to cost them that much more chas, I mean, they give you a boarding pass anyway, printing two [View Full Entry]

So technically this morning's breakfast is the last formal part of our Contiki tour, but as half of our group had left already last night was really it - so no goodbyes for those I didn't see at the "Farewell" Dinner! Anywho, after jumping in and out of bed about a hundred times to try and catch Kat on her way to the airport - luckily our room was almost in the lobby of the hotel - we dragged out butts out of bed and up the stairs for breakfast. Catching up with John, Bob, Angie and Sami, Nessa and I [View Full Entry]

Alrighty, on the Contiki home stretch now...God, can you imagine what this is going to look like by the end of the year? Jeepers! So after a nive perve at the super hot waiter at breakfast, who, as it happened said hello to me, although Bob assures me this is simply to be polite and not because he clearly thinks I am a sexy godess...more's the pity, we were off to the Colleseum (which I will insist on spelling wrong so get over it already). On the way to the Metro, while my brain was still waking up, I was amused [View Full Entry]

Isn't it funny how things come full circle? Don't mind me, this is the second time I have written this entry - damn internet connections... After the adventures of the previous day it was an early start for a long day of driving. With a strong air of anticipation the major of our tour group crowded outside in the rain, waiting for Fabio, who clearly wasn't as ready as we all were, to get back on da coacha and get the show on the road. I think this may be why, throughout the day, we subjected to both below freezing and [View Full Entry]
