After a few hours bus trip we were ready to begin the famous Inca Trail. We being Shaun, me, 2 guides, 12 other gringos and 19 porters. That´s right, 19. Taking tents, food, oxygen and even seats. Most of the gringos also opted for the porters to take the majority of their gear, but I decided to it ´the real way´. At a paltry 13.7kgs I won the heaviest gringo pack competition. Day one was a dawdle, with us halving all the ´average´ times and having way too many breaks. Views and food were great however, and our little Inca trail family all got to know, and mostly like, each other. Day two started early, with the infamous ´Dead Women's Pass´ to cross.
