Steph is 19 Steph... I'm glad you're doing well and enjoyed your birthday. You're 5 years minus a day younger than me (I think that's right haha). And when I was thinking of you and how you were turning 19... i was caught off guard lol... that means I'm old. Even though you weren't here with us to celebrate your birthday... you were part of the celebration... as you can see from the love sent you way from the pictures! I miss you tremendously. Your placement sounds amazing... and I know you're there doing an amazing thing. You were a great person before you left for Ghana... and this experience will make you that much greater. Love you. Take care of yourself.
Muah.
Hi there and Birthday Wishes from Canada!!! How much longer will u be staying in Ghana? Good thing u didnt go and watch the mentor finale live. We went for the first mentor and the whole thing took 5 (!!!) hours, that's without the waiting in "line" ouside the conference center. Hope u enjoying ur time over there :)
Happy Birthday! Dear Steph.......A very, very, happy birthday. We were thinking of you all day yesterday. We were in Florida, and flew home this morning (1-22) and now we got on the internet right away. We enjoy all your journal entries, and thanks for the letter. Did you get the box of candy from us yet? Did it come melted, or what? Love, G&G

Katey Gardner Hi Stephanie,
My daughter, Katey was just travelling in the same area as you, maybe you were on the same bus! and tro-tro! Do you know here, she is with You Lead in Sekondi-Takoradi? at a Montessori School. She travelled with other You Lead volunteers, Karen, Zoe, and Kate - all from BC.
I loved your story about the "insane million hour bus ride" cause that's how Katey described it. They apparently waited up all night to catch a 4am bus and then missed it!! had to take a tro tro all the way, then a taxi. Anyway, nice to read your amusing stories....the internet is really wonderful way to communicate with people. Take care, Lisa
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas Steph!
I always enjoy reading your new blog additions and think about how proud I am of you and the person you are. Will be thinking of you this holiday and hope for health and happiness in the New Year! Take Care of yourself....

Merry Christmas Steph Merry Christmas Steph! It may seem like a lonely christmas now, but I bet this is one you'll never forget! I asked the guy at the post office about sending Manchu Wok, he looked at me kinda weird, so I think the answer is no. I ate some noodles though and tried to pass the taste on telepathically, did you get it?
write to me NOW I get the same comment from Katrina each time I receive her letters. We HAVE wriitten back - Her letters take less than 2 weeks to get here. Mine obvious are taking more than 2 months!! Obviously she hasn't received any YET?! Just to let u know that the letters are in the mail! Our thoughts are with you always. Big hugzz to all of you!
Stephanie I loved the dwarf story and I'm glad to hear you are having fun. I can't wait to see you when you get back. Ps the earlier address you gave us...can we still send you letters there??
Miss you Love from home, Steph. We are reading your journals and are amazed at what you are experiencing. We sent you mail, and don't know if you got it yet. We will be missing you at Christmas time, but will say prayers for you. All our love.
GARI! Stephanie, Thank you for these great updates! You can buy plenty of gari at the makola market in Toronto, and there are places in Ottawa too!
We'll have some waiting for you in March.
Much love - (ps - I think the fedish preist wins)

Goodness. Jesus Stef. Seems like you're having one hell of a time... I love the proposal count of 24... I can't see too many other girls getting that many in three weeks?
Your experience sounds wonderful. Completely outta the box and really different. Something really worth doing and seeing, rather than like Europe or something that everyone does.
Anyways good luck, have fun and I'll see you around sometime when you return to Canada eh?
Want to know too Hi Stephanie, what you're doing sounds absolutely awesome! Not exactly comparable with what "normal" backpackers do, good on you for doing this! I'd like to know too what organisation you're traveling with. Would be thrilled if you could give me some info on that. Thanks heaps, enjoy your time and take good care! Cheers, Christina P.S. my email is christina.travelbug@hotmail.com
hi Brenna the organization is called One World Global Education and the website (i think) is www.oneworlded.com
from my experience so far, i would recommend it, but i will tell you everything when we're both back home.
Hello!
This is my travelblog of my experience in Ghana, West Africa! I don't know how often I'll have access to the internet--if I have it at all--so don't count on there being a day to day account of my journeys. Besides, even if I did have internet access everyday, I wouldn't waste it sending messages to you folks!
I hope you enjoy, and that you're having a wonderful time in the frigid weather of Canada.
peace.... full info
