You And Bali Are One Dear Cookie,
What an exciting end to your trip to see such a grand display of the local talent and be part of
this ceremony. Yes, you and Bali are one and the same. The locals must love having you
there as much as you love being there. By the way, you look quite beautiful in your photo.
Glowing, as a matter of fact. Travel and Asia agree with you.
So sweet sister, have a wonderful last week and have safe travels until you reach your home,
sweet home. Nice to go away and very nice to come back.
Love you lots,
Carlynn
Mystical Bali I can even hear the rain playing its magical sound with the beats on the hang drum in the background. Thank you for sharing with us the beauty.
I'm Green, too (with envy:) Marilyn, you'll be back soon! But what a wonderful place you've spent the long, cold winter! You're writing is excellent, really helps me see and get a feeling for where you are.
Heavenly Spot Dear Cookie, What an absolutely beautifully written message. It sounds so peaceful and you
and Ubud have blended so well together. Even the torrential rain has beauty in its sound, the
music of your neighbors and then the lushness afterward. Great that you will have the festival
as your send off. So happy for you.
Love, Hugs, Carlynn
So did you feel different after the ritual bathing? And enjoy the remainder of your wonderful trip. If you are lucky, by the time you get back home the rest of the snow may have melted!
Dear Cuz Cookie, I don\'t know if you know that the (older) brother Herb of your Aunt Miriam (my mother) spent many years living in Bali after WW II. As a US Naval officer he flew transport planes \"over the hump\" from India to supply the Allied armed forces fighting the Japanese in SW China and Burma. He fell in love with SE Asia and was there on and off until he died of cancer in the 1960s. With gaps of maybe 10 years or so, we saw him as he passed through NY on occasional trips back to the US. It\'s nice to see you enjoying the same people, art, and culture that must have induced him to live in Bali. Love to you, Peter
A Monday Hug Dear Cookie, You must be feeling great to be off on such an adventure, and in the rain! So
now you are purified along with your friends and those sweet Balinese ladies. Beautiful pieces
of art and a lovely spot.
It is a beautiful sunny day here in FL as it was yesterday. We are so blessed to have such
wonderful weather.
Keep well, sis, and keep these blogs coming! love, carlynn
Like describing my hometown Bali you describe just like my hometown. We had beautiful rice field before. But now most of the land become city. Bride and groom plant coconut trees on wedding day in some places in Hainan, too. Though we don't have white lotus, but we have pink lotus. We had a lot of all kinds of birds. But now we seldom find birds.
Great photos Cookie, I noticed the signs you photographed were all in English. Do most of the people in Ubud speak English and do you speak "Bali"? Loved the water scenes with the boats and swimmers. The rice fields and the sunset was beautiful!
A Florida Hello Dear Cookie, Beautiful paintings, statues and flowers! A peaceful spot to spend a couple of
hours. Hope your days are filled with all the things you love in that part of the world. How
long will you be in this town? Then where are you off to? Love hearing from you.
Things are fine here, beautiful weather and lots to keep us busy.
love, carlynn
