Just Keeping in Touch Hi Clare
Well, if you have just got a couple of empty message that's because the ''Enter'' button doesn't move you to the next box to fill in, should have used the ''Tab'' button. Have now found Krabi on the home atlas, must have the cheap one at work! But just when I find that out, you are now in Malaysia; is it any different ? I was wondering about the 30 days and the visa. No gossip to pass on, eveything quite the same as usual, will try and think of something quite boring and EMail you tomorrow. Can't wait for you to find a cheap Internet access and get some photo's downloaded and a bit more narrative.
Dad.
X.
Relief! Phew! We were wondering where you were! Glad to see you're still having fun. If only I could give you gossip... my last e-mail consisted of all my gossip. And I've finally reached my overdraft limit - gooooooooo job!
Keep us posted!
Glad you're alive! Yup, had thought you may have beern crushed by an elephant, or something, somewhere! Life is good - training is now finished and rotations start on Monday - AND they've given us two weeks off at Xmas! Woohoo - so travelling is definitley on the cards again. Hope Malaysia is awesome too - sure you'll find food a plenty there - fatty fat fat!! ;-p Keep emailing and will send you an email soon - Lots of Love, Nick.
Want to be there!!!! Hey, sounds like you are still having such an amazing time-i really want to be there! Back at uni now, just started my phd and it's not very easy! Good to be back in manchester tho-living with thom! Went to kenya at the end of the summer-was so amazing. Got to see loads of elephants too but had one come into camp in the morning and nearly trample all over the tents! Bit scary i must admit! Anyway will look forward to you next post-it's been a while slacker!! Take care xxx
Tips for my trip Hi Clare, I have been reading your blogs with interest as we are travelling through Vietnam in November. Do you mind letting me know the name of the hotel you stayed in in Hanoi that you mentioned was cheap and good (the one the Aussies took you too) and also would you recommend the tour group you took to Halong Bay?? We are lookign for recommendations for who to use for that trip cause we have heard some horrow stories! Any tips you can give me would be great!
Enjoy!
Sam
Koma on Kao San Hi Claire, I only remember Kao San road too well- although parts of my time there I don't remember at all due to 'mekong whiskey' mixed with minimal amounts of cola- alibi- amounts really!! SOmeone told us they put speed in the mekong stuff (it's really called 'mekong whiskey'!!!) to ensure the guests drink as long as the money lasts without collapsing...but I haven't shared that experience since I DID collapse in fair time... :) I've been to Bangkok and CHiang Mai, trekking to the Karen people, elephant ride and rafting included, all that some 4 -5 years ago. I must say I loved THailand and will definitely go back...and it's real easy to travel there I find, certainly compared to India where I've been this year in Feb. My 3 months 'career break' in Jan 2006 is a done deal now, I can't wait!!!!! Will check flights this week and am still searching the web for suitable volunteer work but it's all SO EXPENSIVE, I just can't believe it's a serious organization that CHARGES you 1000-something $ for the honour of being allowed to teach English or wash elephants or whatnot..??? Anyway- where are you heading and have you been trekking in the golden triangle already? Looking fw to your next update, take care-
Stefani
Hey wow - sounds like you're having a fantastic time - lovin reading your blogs - making me more than a little jealous, while im sat here in manchester being bored! have to admit i gave in to the lure of macdonalds when i was there (hush - dont tell anyone, traveller sin no. 1)
keep up the good work - take care :)
Thailand What I want to know is where are you keeping all the clothes you keep buying? Are you throwing your old ones away? I am really jealous, carry on shopping. Pauline
Sounds amazing!! Hi Clare sounds like your having a wicked time. U've sure got some balls to go of exploring on ur own out there - well done u. I've not really had a hol yet this yr so u've given me a few ideas with these blogs. I'm currently in Manc for a few days doing a training course for work (and of course getting lashed at night time) which makes a change to work. Keep havin fun. The Ling
I was gettin worried an all!! Yep, glad to hear your ok. just a bit of an update for your trip clare. that huge Urn thingy you found in Thialand is called "the Ashes" its now on a whistle stop tour of the world which culminates in it going to austrailia. once its there it will be displayed in a load of major cities - just so that the Aussie population can marvel at WHAT THEY'VE JUST LOST!!!!
seriously Clare, your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to act as my unofficial ambassador in Aus, once there your job is to belittle as many Aussie males as possible. We have suffered at the hands of these intolerables for long enough so i think a period of national gloating is now in order and i reckon we've got just the girl for the job!!
Extra brownie points this month as well for taking your alcoholic concoction back to the street vendor to ask for a top up!! Go girl!! Just remember your "Clare Stephenson White House Basic Training"
Rule 1, the customer is always right.
Rule 2, See rule 1
Rule 3, Dont sleep with any of the football team
Don't worry mam and dad, clare didn't break the 3rd rule, although the same can't be said for the rest of her workmates over the years!!
Pools update 4 ya. Went to Blackpool and actually won 2-1!! we usually get a pasting there. He dropped all his new signings (except promising left winger and coffee pal Thomas Butler youll be pleased to hear!) and played the kids. Swansea at home on sat should be interesting and have trips booked up to go to Bristol and Nottingham next month so i'll keep you informed.
Went to Slash's wedding on Friday, do was at Seaham Hall (v posh) bumped into Katie Barron who was on reception and i told her what you were up to. going to another wedding on the 23rd and then Smiler's wedding on oct 9th (mine's the 12th of never BTW!!)
Keep yourself safe and well Clare, look forward to the next blog.
Stephen

:o) at Bangkok Hee hee, the joys of Bangkok. Dirtiest, smelliest yet best place I've ever been. My Dad got propositioned in Pat Pong when we went off exploring. My lasting memory of the Royal Palace was finding rats wandering around the place. Finally, I hope they've got rid of the scaffolding off the Reclining Buddha - my pics are CRAP!
Take care

Thought you'd been 'adult'napped somewhere along the way - haven't heard from you for a while! Glad you're having fun. I'm now 3 weeks in to the training programme and people are really nice and up for a lot of going out - think I finally need an early night!! Flat is good too - the guys are easy to get along with, and Angel is really relaxed. Right, well have to get back to it, but keep emailing and keep having fun! :-) xx

A Comment This is Dad speaking
Sunday night, Home Alone as usual, nobody else is commenting so thought I would. See that Amy has sent a comment, tell her to use the 'Contact Clare' thing and then you can do her homework etc. Saw the pics you sent through this morning, good ones of the monkeys put those ones up, but don't bring one home. Good idea to put you up in a palatial hotel before going into the back of beyond or is it ? How was Angkor Wot, loads of pics ? Got the postcard from over a week ago have you sent Grandad one ? Have to go this is getting too long, remember what Neil says don't forget to brush, all those noodles, tricky little blighters can easily get stuck between the molars.
By the way what type of Elephants are there in Vietnam, do they have Big Ears ? if so Noddy will pay the ransom !
Don't forget, to avoid losing any more useful info, when sat down before moving off check and count all items then after standing confirm you still have same number of things and have a good look around then move off.
Another thing, who is James (Anonymous) the litigating lawyer ?
See Ya, Dad (hope the sun shines before your next Monsoon)
WE'RE SO JEALOUS!!!! You write 3 pages - I write 3 words ..... that's cos I'm in Blighty, working me sox off, and you're swanning off to see the sights of the world!!!!! Take care C, and keep the piccies comin' !!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxx
I graduated from the University of Manchester, UK, in 2005 having completed a 3 year Law degree. I had a great time being a student, but it made me realise that there is more to life than becoming a professional... so I thought a year off after Uni would be an ideal time to see a bit of the world, before I had to grow up and get a proper job! I had an amazing time thanks to many of the amazing people I met along the way.
There came a time, when professional studies were over, I HAD to get a proper job. This was fun, but only for 18months or so... before I set off on another adventure to We... full info
