Alrighty there. I'm full of beans today, having had a really nice afternoon/evening yesterday and a sunny morning teaching people Poi today. And a gooood sleep! I have also, funnily enough had a really good few days. I decided not to spend a 3 nights in Taupo, so that i could hang out with the crew on my bus as they are pretty ace. This meant I had to move my Tongariro Crossing walk to a day earlier than I had planned, which meant getting up at 6am on Tuesday morning. I had been a bit ill, but thought bugger it I may as well do it when my friends are doing it. The crossing itself is known to be one of the top 10 day hikes in the world, and one of the best in ... read more

I thought I had posted this blog a while ago, apparently not, so I will just continue it. After our Cape Reinga adventure I went to bed and had an early night, only to be woken up by the loudest snoring you could possibly imagine. It was like some great monster and everyone in the room was woken up by it. So I decided staying in the same room as Tiggy was not a great idea after this! But in the morning, we went out on the Canoe with Nick and Rob. It was such a beautiful morning, all bright and sunny and we paddled around a bit and then jumped in the ocean. And we caught fish, and learnt some Maori stuff like sharing our spirits thought touching foreheads/noses together. And we (I say we, ... read more

...That's what all the New Zealander's are always saying. And that's pretty much what I think of this country so far! I've pretty much sorted out some kind of schedule for travelling round the country, which makes me happy, and I've had a brilliant last few days. After writing my last blog I watched a film late in to the night to try and cancel out the Jet Lag. I thought it had worked as I slept soundly until 12pm. whoops, as I meant to get a tour of Auckland but missed the bus. Never mind, I went to the Auckland Museum which is very interesting, and worth a visit if you're ever in town. Then I went for drinks with two people who moved into my room. I tried to still get an early night ... read more

I last wrote whilst in the midst of Holi festival in Anjuna. I then had a mad dash to my hotel, where i got more covered in lovely colour, and then to the airport. Everyone there wished me a "Happy Holi", except the check in guy who said, "You're gonna have to wash that off your face or they won't let you through security" He was obviously getting in to the spirit of things. My face was orange, which is only just off the shade my face generally is anyways! But anyway, I arrived in Mumbai to find some of Adi's Rellies' in the flat, and they invited me to join them for dinner. And then forced me to eat, and eat and eat. Well the result was the next day I had the shits again, ... read more

...I'm covered in colour. It's Holi festival in India and all the kids re running around with bags of dye powder and throwing it at people. I was prepared for it, but I'm catching a flight in a few hours and haven't got time to wash it off. argh. But its fun. :-) Yes, i am soon to leave Anjuna and haven't got time to tell in detail what i've been up to (do i hear sighs of relief?) But basically, I went paragliding, fun fun fun soaring in the sky above the eagles, and then broke my fake kroks (yes i bought some!) on the walk down from the hill top. I stayed in the beach huts and had a swarm of ants carrying bits of cake from my bag to their nest, it was ... read more

Have finally reached a computer, or at least made the effort to walk to a computer place! I've been in Goa since last friday, but here is the low down on what I've been up to since Baroda. Adi's mum arranged for me to be looked after in Mumbai, the housekeeper/office worker called Zup Singh collected me from the train station and took me back to the flat for amazing food. Then I went to the office and met Mr Johnson my Mumbai guide. He took us to a museum where they almost confiscated my sun cream as a suspect liquid or something. We then saw the Taj Hotel and Cafe Leopolds and the gateway to india. it was nice to get some kind of understanding of the layout of the main touristy areas, for I ... read more

The tour has now finished, and the group disbanded, it feels weird having spent such a long time with them to no longer have them right there. Despite this I have managed to sort myself a plan for the last few weeks, which i am currently extremely happy with. I guess I'd better recount my tales of the last part of my tour. I must first recount an event which happened before my last blog which i forgot to mention. Anna, Roberta and I were walking to the ATM in the hot hot sunshine. I decide it is time to apply the keep me white cream and so pause to apply. Then as i bend to cream up my ankles a man cycles past. turns to look, turns back, double takes, looks away, turns for one ... read more

It has been raised that it comes across in my previous blogs that I don't seem to be enjoying my experiences here in India. This is not the case. I'm having an Amazing time! I just like to share everything thats happening, and it can seem like i'm complaining alot, but seriously, things are awesome. The following shares my experiences of the last few days...... We set off from Jaipur to Bharatpur pretty early on friday 13th, the less said about the bus journey, the better. But lets just say we were very (very, very) happy to arrive at the haven we were staying at near the Keoladeo Bird sanctuary in Bharatpur. Can't remember the name of the place but it was something like Birder's inn jungle Lodge. It really was a beautiful place and just ... read more

Well I'm currently in the city of Jaipur, and over halfway through my "North India Unplugged" adventutre. Its been a few days since I updated my blog, and I can't really remember everything that has gone on, but i guess that doesn't really matter, here are the highlights... Our last full day in Udaipur consisted of umming and ahhing about whether I needed more cooking equipment when I get home, the answer it turns out, was yes! So I bought a kadhai wok (yes Another wok!). I'm sure it will get much use when i'm back in the UK. it is hopefully on its way there right now, with a load of stuff Anna and I decided we didnt want to cart round. We then walked up to the monsoon palace, for sunset (more pics ahoy) ... read more

So as you can see, I am in the most romantic city in India and apaz, one of the most romantic in the world. I mean, what isn't romantic about dodging cow dung, the millions of motorbikes and drifting off to sleep to the sound of millions of nocternal K9s scrapping outside? haha. actually it is a very nice place. once again people are really friendly, and love my hat. :-) But wait, I've skipped ahead a few days, so lets go back to Jaisalmer... We arrived in Jodhapur which lets face it, is a pretty bleak, polluted concrete city. I didn't really like it here, we got auto-rickshaws(tuktuks) about the place, and each time you had to cover your face to stop being fumagated. Not so pleasant. It is known as the blue city and ... read more
