Fiji

 Oceania » Fiji
The word paradise gets thrown around alittle to much in my opinion, unless that persons talking about the Fijian islands that is.. Arriving in nadi airport you are greeted by a small group of guys dressed in Hawaiian shirts playing mini guitars and singing a welcoming song and this friendliness is prominent through out the whole of Fiji and the surrounding islands (of which there are 333) we spent one night in nadi town in a very SE asian style hostel, ie basic and falling apart alittle.. but from there we booked all our boats and things and decided unlike the [View Full Entry]

Hello all, we've been up to lots of great stuff since the last edition, but as usual il try and keep to a nice time line, ok so to be fair we honestly didnt really do that much in Sydney apart from goggle at the opera house and eat alot of curry and sushi from the red light district.. which is actually a really nice place.. we tried to go to bondi beach but once we there and unpacked our stuff it started raining, as it does. So we quit Sydney and headed on up the coast to Byron bay which [View Full Entry]

Wow it seems like a long time since the last blog.. and weve come a long way since the last one, this mostly due to the countrys weve been in and my lazyness... well mostly the lazyness part... (sorry) anyhow i believe the last blog left us about to head to ko tao for the second time, which we did and managed to rent ourselves a lil bungalow for three weeks up in the hills overlooking the sea.. which was nice. as was the coffee shop below us which we had breakfast in every morning = ) anyway ko tao was [View Full Entry]

Cambodia

Asia » Cambodia » North » Siem Reap
As it turned out we didn't spent too much time in Cambodia, the people there were alot nicer than those in Vietnam dispite the troubles they've been through as a people, but alittle more on that later.. Cambodia is the sort of place i used to think of when i thourght of budget traveling, it has virtually no roads just big dirt tracks everywhere that get very dusty.. no air con busses and proberly the main factor being that its bloody cheap, because before i came away i thought as id expect most people do that all of Asia is really [View Full Entry]

I would like to say our trip into north Vietnam was great, that it was fantastically organized that the people were great and we loved it all.. i would like to say that... but im unfortunately it would be one huge fat lie !! we managed to get out visas in Vientiane probably the most chilled out capital city in the world and booked on to the (now nickednamed) hell bus.. which as it turned out was 27 hours of yep u guessed it.. hell. it started off ok but every so often we would stop and pick up more [View Full Entry]

Laos is brilliant... we came from changmai to the border and started our 2 day trip down the mekong river by slowboat which some people really hared but i really enjoyed, ok the seats were made for the laos people who tend to be to fit into about a quarter of the space as us but the scenery was spectacular (not something limited to this bit the whole country is amazing) and we also met some cool people on the boat some girls from Canada and a guy called josh whos still with us.. we arrived off the boat at a [View Full Entry]

So after topping up our deepening tan in ko phi phi we moved on up, back to the hustle of Bangkok where we were due to meet one of my friends who came out to meet us for a few days and after the expected confusion of finding someone on foreign turf we got everything sorted. feeling the need for a bit of culture we headed off the next day to the grand palace, and like everywhere we seem to go part of it was under construction, but the rest was.. well pretty damn shiny lots of big spires covered with [View Full Entry]

Well as it happens we did get well and truely pasted, soaked, and occasionaly slapped in the face with prickly heat powder.. Happy New Year !! Bangkok, (well khao sarn Rd) and surrounding area to be honest as the crush of people didnt let you move much) was alot of fun when we were there as i mentiond it was thai new year (songkram) and to celabrate every single person hits the streats with super soakers and buckets of flour paste. the roads grind to a stand still and the cars get there share of paste as well as police, dogs, [View Full Entry]

The biggest and brightest of the hong kong skyline
Hong Kong, city of bright lights big buildings and thousands of indian tailors.. Every trip out on to the street, is like a battle against 'The Hawkers' and when i say about a thousand i aint kidding. anyway brilliant city, shame we are to skint to fully enjoy it not to say that we havnt liked it here but we have tended to spend our days wandering the streets looking for cheap places to eat (other than mcdonalds) and inverably end up in a starbucks, they're like blackholes u cant get away.. plus eve likes the brownies. other than that we [View Full Entry]
