Hey guys, I'm in Holland. Sorry no photos anymore :( Nevermind, I will show them all to you when I get back home. I've been going to work with Mario, driving around in his truck seeing lots of Holland and taking plenty of photos. We went to an amusement park it was quiet so Mario and I rode the roller coaster for over an hour without getting off. We went to a war museum and later that same day we went and saw the aftermath of celebrations for PSV's championship. These people are Soccer mad! Contiki starts next week I can't wait. ... read more

The night before I left San Antonio we had a small get together to watch the Spurs lose to the Nuggets. We had some Texan BBQ..... Mikey brought two buckets of Ice Tea, I can't get enough of the stuff. I had such a good time in San Antonio and I need to thank Jackie, Elias, Kristen, Drew, Sarah, Maddison, Joe, Mongo, Rudy and family, Hector, Pam & Speedy. If I missed anyone out I am sorry, I will get you later. To celebrate my last night Elias and I went for a Whataburger and a trip to Walmart for some last minute shopping at 3am in the morning. Being the only people in a huge super store is an experience in it self. Goodbye San Antonio, Texas...... I got into LA and managed to get ... read more

Today Elias and I went back into Mexico. we went for a long drive to the small village where his family originally came from and where he still has some family. It was great to drive deeper into Mexico and out of the city and into the desert. Miles and miles of nothing just a long dusty road dodging crazy truck drivers. The village was the genuine article. Modest stone houses painted bright green or orange or pink. A very different way of life. Just outside the village was the Mission de San Bernardo. Another mission similar to the Alamo. No gift store by this one though. It was nice to see the mission in an environment similar to what it would have been like in its time. Next door to the mission was a rodeo ... read more

Today I crossed into Mexico! Elias, his grandmother and I went accross the border to Piedras Negras, Coahuila. Its no problem getting into Mexico all you have to do is pay $2 USD. It's really amazing crossing the border. You pay your money, the gate opens and you drive accross the bridge. As soon as you get to the other side of the bridge you are in another country. Captain obvious I know but just 100m seperates two completely different worlds. I thought Eagle Pass was what Mexico would be like but Mexico was even further removed from the rest of the US. There is very little reference to America no Mc Donalds, Walmarts or billboards advertising US products. Everything is in Espanol no English anywhere, speed signs in kmph and the pay television company advertisng ... read more

My good friend Elias invited me to join him as he went back home to Eagle Pass. Eagle Pass sits on the banks of the Rio Grande River about 140 miles southwest of San Antonio and opposite of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. Its srange because you are still in Texas but 95% of the people living in EP are Hispanic. So everyone is speaking Espanol, its very different from the rest of Texas, I thought to myself this must be what Mexico is like... We stayed with Elias's father, mother and little brother. They were so welcoming some of the nicest people you will meet. Some of the best Mexican food I had the whole time I was in Texas and Mexico was in the Perez home. They were fasinated by my knoledge and love of ... read more

The Coca-Cola Report! As far as taste, it tastes the same as back home. its possibly a little sweeter but that may be influenced by the food I have been eating. However the shape of the cans are different. As you can see in my photo the top of the can tappers off at a sharper angle and the mouth hole is larger. This shape is more streamline, shaving milli-seconds off the time it takes to get a can from the table to my mouth. And the larger hole allows more to fill my mouth. A very popular drink in Texas that I have taken a strong liking to is Ice Tea. It tastes like regular tea but with ice. That may sound stupid to you and it did to me but its grown on me ... read more

Drew has been doing his best to show me places that are really San Antonio, the non touristy places. And quite frankly he's been doing an excellent job. I came to San Antonio to watch the Spurs, but they have taken a back seat, Id rather be soaking up as much of San Antonio as possible. AND THE FOOD! I actually had a few things I really wanted to do in San Antonio, such as eating breakfast tacos, trying ice tea, eating a big steak. I'm pleased to say I have accomplished most of them thanks to Drew. Today was a huge food day.... The night before we decided we would do breakfast tacos in the morning but Sarah had to start work early. So the answer was to wake up at 6:30am! I managed to ... read more

I spent the last couple of days with Drew, his daughter Maddison, his girlfriend Sarah and friend Joe. On Tuesday we went down to the Riverwalk and ate at a place called the Rainforest cafe, it was very crowded and very touristy. But Maddison loved it. We had almost a two hour wait but it was a nice day and we just relaxed on the side of the Riverwalk. After eating we did a little tiki-tour around some of the downtown streets. We passed the Buckhorn saloon. Basically a bar with lots of dead animals. It was also great to see the Riverwalk and the Alamo with hundreds of people around it. I had been lucky to visit it when it was quiet. After we walked around a bit we went to pick Sarah up and ... read more
