saved! The bit about the dogs remind me of Anna's happy face everytime she saw a 'saved' animal in Mongola :)
Such beautiful pictures! Here on the islands of Japan where I am right now things are nice but not very colourful or photogenic. But I'll be back with a vengeance on Taiwan ;)
hurray for your guts! Whoa, when I read the part about you guys fighting for your rights with that guide, I really admire your balls! I don't know if a) I would even notice being scammed b) having enough guts to do something about it.
(that's why i never take guides anymore, but that also means missing out on some of the things you see. beautiful pictures, the mountain views are so wonderful... (never manage to get such shots with my cheap digicam hehe).
Leh No problem Rupasree. I do hope you get a chance to visit the area again. Such an interesting place, especially for a geographer! Thanks for your kind comments.

A breath of fresh air! Hi Chris and Anna,
Thanks for posting such a fantastic blog, full of interesting detail, great photos and again, leaves you feeling as though youhave those walking poles under our own arms! Loved the part where Chris told the guide to 'be quiet and keep on walking.' He obviously needed to be taken to task. I keep getting a vision of you two standing side by side on your wedding day, and with all these amazing experiences you've shared together. Great memories (and some not so great LOL) to look back on. I can relate to how you felt Anna when you nearly cried after putting that pack on your back and wondering how you were going to get through the days ahead, but well done you for conquering the challenge! You're an inspiration. I think based on that, I will up my weights at the gym! Have logged onto your blog from work as I've got a bit of a break in my trial so thanks again for sharing Nepal with us. Safe travels, comfortable beds, and happy feet. Love, Viv
OMG!! OMG Anna! You had us rather worried for a while - glad to hear you are nice and chilled again. The latest photos are fab by the way. Would it be OK for me to give your blog address to Mrs Douglas? - she keeps asking about you.
Lots of love and be careful, Anne xxx
Thanks for taking me to Leh, Ladakh & Pangong Lake!!! My sincerest thanks for transporting my spirits to real time Leh and Pangong Lake. Ladakh!!! As an Indian geographer (Bengali, resident of Kolkata) I have always been fascinated by the rugged Himalayas of our turbulent Northwestern border regions. In May 1979 I was in Kashmir on my honeymoon, but could not visit Leh due to sudden inclement weather. Since then, never could take another trip to that region for multifarious reasons. Viewing your pictures posted on the Internet, I have literally felt myself to be present in Leh and Pangong, savouring the picturesque locales' magnificence!!
Thank you ,once again for this experience!!!
We were there too... Hi Anna and Chris, nice photos, and unless those ladies sit outside Durbar Square in the same positions every day, I was there at exactly the same time as you were. Back in Sydney now and missing it already (hence my googling!)

A couple of mid 20 year olds, started this blog back in 2006. We left our homeland of New Zealand and set off on our trip of a lifetime.
These entries follow our travels from our New Zealand to London and back again. Total geeks - no Las Vegas or full moon parties here. We used '1001 Natural wonders' to plan our trips. Sometimes riding 5 hours on the back of a motorbike to see a waterfall or random rock formation.
Since arriving back home in New Zealand in 2011, travels haven't been much of a priority. The arrival of our amazing little baby has made us hang up our backpacks for a little... full info
