Turkish delights So, the intrepid travellers are at the end of their Turkish odyssey! So different from most people's package holiday on the coast..... Into the 3rd week of school now. We got the full Ofsted report last week - couldn't have been much better. Art was mentioned as 'excellent' but strangely they forgot to say anything about either ICT or French!! Hope you two have a fab time in Russia, love Anne xxx
Hello from cold, windy England!! Thats right. Weather forecast for this evening...4 degrees!! I think you guys might just have taken our sun along with you....!
Wow, your coastal boat trip sounds utterly blissful. So pleased your travels are going well. And if you weren't looking forward to it enough already, the Lonely Planet has awarded the trans Siberian Express "the most amazing journey" (or something to that effect!).
Take care xx
Have fun! Just got back from France and had to check out what you've been up to. I am so jealous as you have such an incredible time ahead of you. i love checking the blog and travelling with you vicariously. Off to see Ali's baby today, Darcey Cordelia! Rugby world Cup in NZ coming up. If I am ever going to get Andrew to fork out for flights this is the time. Be warned! All the best, Gill
How hot?! You two look like such well-seasoned travellers already! I love the hippy bag, Chris! Istanbul looks fab - and it's hot. It poured with rain yesterday, cool and grey today... Wish I was there! Look after yourselves, Anne xxx
The Guesthouse I meant to ask in my earlier comment what is the name of the guest house you are staying at. Would you recommend it for a few days Sept 7 onwards ?
You'll LOVE Turkey ! I was 'fine tuning' my travel blog getting ready for a trip in about 3 week and saw your blog on the homepage of Travelblog.Org. Seems you are staying in the same area of Sultanamet we stayed in in April 2006. (Seems like only a year ago !) Your observations are right, Turkey is safe, wonderful friendly and helpful people. Awesome sights all over the place. Have a great trip and keep safe.

like Hello hello.
Nice to read your travels homeward. Do you both have same cell numbers?
Anna, I am relieving at Rangi this term and thought I recognised a couple of the year 9s. I think you may too. Egor Filippor and Devon Arcus - both haven't changed a bit, just taller. She seemed to be the pretty one (or so she thought) and he goes by the nickname 'midget'. They remembered you as soon as I asked but funnilly enough, didn't remember me. Also from your Sherwood class is Anne van Denburg (sp?) but she was not in the class with me on Friday.
Keep in touch.

Keukehof Those are pretty good shots of the bulbs @Keukenhof. My first and only visit there was back in 1986, probably even before you were born. And yes, I remember those bulbs. At the time, my shots were so awfully blurred that I wanted so much to get back again. I haven't. Thanks for sharing this.
Your blog was on the home page and as a lover of Scotland I had to view it. Although not a citizen of the U.K, I have the wonderful privilege of living in Scotland for several years. Glencoe is one of my favorite place. I think I left my heart there. It looks as if some things have changed in the 35 years since I have been there, but it still calls to me. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely pictures.
Looking good guys Hello hello.
Love the blogs - keep them coming.
Counting down till your trip home.... I'm looking forward to giving you a hard time for missing Xmas in Auckland. See you soon. XO
funny I really enjoyed your blog...it is actually usefull as I am going to Egypt it is going to help me organize my trip a bit. The bit about being asked over and over...got some of that in Petra...never had someone yell "Donkey" at me so many times in succession!
Hi I share your opinion of the place. Was there 10 years ago. The onlt chance i had is at the time, we were able to enter the Tomb of Nefertari (euh..is this the right spelling....such a long time...). seems this is a no-no these days. I'm back in egypt inMarch for some small stop-overs...on the program Saqqara, Alexandria...and i'm sure some more local harrassement on the way...Always a pleasure to see your pics and read your blog!
amazing pics Sure is a beautiful place.
I visited leh in july 2009 but couldnt see the pangong lake because i had few days.
Amazing pics..feel like going back.
A couple of mid 20 year olds, started this blog back in 2006. We left our homeland of New Zealand and set off on our trip of a lifetime.
These entries follow our travels from our New Zealand to London and back again. Total geeks - no Las Vegas or full moon parties here. We used '1001 Natural wonders' to plan our trips. Sometimes riding 5 hours on the back of a motorbike to see a waterfall or random rock formation.
Since arriving back home in New Zealand in 2011, travels haven't been much of a priority. The arrival of our amazing little baby has made us hang up our backpacks for a little... full info
