kiitos to my friend
After arriving at my camp and finding it deserted, this sweet man called all of my Russian and Finnish contacts, speaking their respective languages on my behalf to find out what was going on. After learning I would be on my own at the camp for 24+, the tax driver insisted on driving me around town for free to collect supplies. He said repeatedly: "I am a peacekeeper. I have kept the peace in Lebanon, Serbia, Afghanistan. I must protect. I cannot leave foreign woman here without food and water. My job is peacekeeper."

Polish Hairz
That hair cut had me worried too! You were lucky to get a young lady who understood your wants. I got the old lady who wanted to make me look like I had just stepped out of the 50's. The mushroom styling was painful but after spending several hours styling it myself, it looked much better. Glad I got to have my first (and only) Polish Hair cut with you! :)

Cemetery
The writings on the headstones are not in hebrew but in russian. This is a cemetery for russian soldiers who fought and died there during the fights vs germans in early 1945.

I hope you realize that the street sign that demands that you dance with a smaller friend is going to be you and me at 3am....in a few months.

Church District
I hope you don't get lost in the church district...that must be the "bad" part of town. Did you bring your pepper spray?

Jewish cemetery
Hi Chelsea, great photos. I don't understand how to use this blog but will figure it out soon. The cemetery with the red stars is a Russian cemetery, or a communist-based cemetery. Have fun!
