down under Thanks Charlie for great descriptive update. Sounds like a glorious nature trail. Lots of memorable sights. Well done for getting to church on Good Friday - we could picture the scene and even on this sad day it must have been very hard not to giggle! God must have a sense of humour! May God continue to guide your adventure and look after you all. Matts Nan and Papa John xx
Wow Now that all sounds amazing.... What memories you will have! Can't wait to see the photos. Hope you are enjoying every minute of it. It's raining here so you aren't missing much! Seen any spiders yet? Xxx
all sounds amazing hi charlie. matt and steph, it all sounds amazing, glad you are having such a great time. we spent a few happy hours on easter sunday pondering the potential hacking of your bank details and entire identities, and then decided you were probably fine! it sounds like you are making loads of amazing memories - they will last a life time.
lots of love clare (aunty!)
Hi Harisha Good to hear from you. We are in Australia at the moment driving from Cairns to Melboune. We are currently right next to Brisbane (about half way). We are having a really good time. I hope you are also alright and I'm looking forward to seeing you in December.
From Matt
down under Hi Matthew, so good to hear your news. Australia sounds amazining. Hope you get to see Kangaroos soon. I have some special friends in Melbourne and I know they would love you to say Hi to them. Rev Ray and Glenys McInnes at St. Silas Vicarage 384 Ferrara Street St. Albert Park 3206. Ray, Glenys stayed with us many years ago and they visited again 18 months ago. We had wonderful time with them and their children who got on so well with my Kate and John Mc. Sadly their oldest son was later killed in motor acident. Anyway if you are close to them make contact with them. much love now and HAPPY EASTER to you and your friends. Maybe you could pop into Rays church for Easter. Nan and Papa John xxxxxxxxxxx
Happy Easter Hi
Yeah we went to cape hillsborough national park the other day and wild kangaroo were jumping through the camp. One stopped by the kitchen when we were making dinner and we got to stroke it.
Thanks for the info on your friends in melbourne. We won't be there for a few weeks yet as that is we're we fly out from but when we are there we may well see if we can find them.
Lots of love
Matt xxx
Camper van Hi you three... Sounds such fun! We are longing to see some pics of you all in your van! Can only imagine what it's like... Tidy...messy....? Who's doing what job and all that sort of stuff! And is Australia living up to all you hoped it would be? It really seems ages since we saw you all. Anyway, have a great day.... Take care etc xxxxxx
That just sounds amazing. I can't get over that hotel. It's crazy. Lydia says 'I love you' with 10 kisses. So good to walk on the F1 track. Did you pretend you were racing cars!
DRIVE CAREFULLY IN AUSTRALIA. Bet you can't wait.
Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Missed you Matthew We had a great weekend at Bristol with the family and walking to the amazing Cheddar Gorge but we missed you. Mum was pleased to hear from you on Mothering Sunday and I enjoyed being with my first born so I tried to make up for your absence! Alice modelled her amazing ball gown looking like the fairy on the Christmas tree. Lydia showed us her latest tap dance and basket ball skills. Such fun! It is great to read your news and the fun time you are having. love and God bless all three of you. Nan and Papa John
YES MALAYSIA guys- there's totes a butterfly exhibit somewhere is kuala lumpur.. my daddy told me :) plus. the beaches are beauts so be sure to check them out! and note to steph- it'll illegal to use your bible in public, just as a warning!
Knives Super to have your comparisons of monitors and gharials from the zoo. Incidently the head of the gharials was a better one than any I found on the net. At university I had a friend who was Malay as apposed to Chinese. He used to complain that the Chinese had taken over his country. He carried an enormous knife permanently in a sheath on his belt. He sharpened it regularly and used it to sharpen pencils. Apparently all true Malays used to carry one - I wonder if this is so today?!!
Grandma agrees that their are no birds and butterflies!!
Love G&G
Volley Hi Charlie and fellow travellers! Keep up the good work on the blog - very interesting read and I'm quite envious!
Re: THE VOLLEY!
Whatever you imagined in your head, it was a least 10 times better than you've imagined :-)
Have a great trip!
taller than the Rockefeller Centre? another great addition to your conquest of the worlds tallest buildings! Good pics, although I'd like more with you guys featured in them, perhaps Steph actually riding a tiger, Matt on a tight rope between the towers or Charlie eating some monkey brain, that kind of thing... at any rate it sounds like you're having more fun than poor old Nat sat here revising for his GCSEs.
What I want to know is, is all the equipment useful? Did all the research into appropriate clothing, money belts, water purifiers and general over-the-top travel must-haves pay off, or have you ditched it all and gone native?! I met Lance on Sunday, a student from Singapore, he said he came from a church of 20,000 members that met in a shopping centre in the city centre!
Important sports news - rare victory for whites on Saturday morning, stunning volley from big Nige! Love Dad
Love Dad
Volley All the stuff we bought has been useful so far, the shirts, journals, torches, shoes, sleepingbags and liner, I've worn the moneybelt every day but I havnt worn the coat yet! Thanks for the food money aswell. Did you see the kelvinator? Wish I had been there to witness the volley, I can just imagine it in my head! I can't wait to play again on a Saturday. Sinvapore tomorrow then Australia!
We can see you... ... in the picture of the space suit. Which, incidentally was worn by the first Malaysian in space, Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar, who went up in a Soyuz about five years ago (and came back again, evidently!).
Thanks, Steph, for calling your mum. We tried to call you back, but could only get your voicemail.
Mind the crocodilians (are you becoming Gharial-obsessive - concerned relatives are asking!), and DON'T BE LATE to Singapore!
Love from here. Dad & Her-with-the-iPad!
Towers and elephants It seems you trusted the structural engineers calculations going up the KL Tower!! 100m taller than the one I did. You seemed to have been let very close to the elephants, maybe only the young one. Everyone did Ready steady cook here on Saturday - I have been trying some different foods as well as yourself. Have a lovely time in Singapore - Brian Amesbury tells me it is a very different place to Kuala Lumpur as he also went to both one after the other. love Dad
Busy busy Hi guys... Good to hear from you and see the latest pics. THe rats and monkeys sound hideous...even the elephants look a bit weary. We want beautiful birds and butterflies please. Maybe Australia will provide some! Mat, didn't realise you were so mindful of the cash flow... That's good. We are looking forward to your next adventure as you step across to cairns, how exciting! Please look after yourselves and each other... Charlie, thanks for the mothers day message! Xxxx
yo wagwan Hey matt. Wats gwanning. Cheers for the raybands dude. Why didn't you try noss.. disappointed!! Ngl I haven't read all your blogs but life goes on mayyte. Have fun.. might read a blog somtime. Cool bye
Probably not My brother Tim is the person to ask, but from looking at a map of the distribution of Komodo dragons, it would seem very unlikely that this is one. Also, they tend to prefer hot, dry places (I don't know if they can swim or not) and I don't remember any pictures of them having yellow circles on their backs.
