Dogs of the Camino Did you read "Pilgrimage" or some title like that by Paul Coelho. While walking the Camino, he was accosted by the devil in the guise of a black dog, which he had to fight off. A little bit of that stuff goes a long way with me. I hope you had no similar encounters.

Re: the Kerikeri couple etc Yes, I do know who you are talking about - she is Pippi Hendel and I know her Mum (Tissy) and Dad (Pete) well, and also know the guy, Pete walked the Camino with, John McAnneney.
You have both done SO well.
Buy some more shoes, Catherine, as you know , they are so cheap and so smart!
Mind your heads when they swing that big 'incense burner', at Mass in the Santiago Cathedral!!!!***
Have a safe journey home...via Barcelona and Singapore....Look forward to comparing notes with you both, on your return!
Love Janet
Hello Catherine-Anne,
It is lovely to read your progress on the journey!! I know what it is like to have blisters. Hopefully you are over them by now. It has been raining heavily most of the holiday (Mon). I had lunch with some girlfriends today, after driving to Bay of Plenty to look at land on Saturday and up to Matakana Sunday, but managed to visit the cinemas at Matakana to see "BecomingJane"(Austen) which was great. Also loved the ceiling of the cinema, with all the dried flowers. A few more shops have opened underneath the complex and it has a lovely feel about the place. One of my patients asked me to call at Snells for a cup of tea, but didn't get time to. Am off to Palmy this Thursday night for a few days, it seems ages since Patrick and I have seen each other and we are going to a Japanese Restaurant with 8 friends to celebrate our betrothal.
Keep well and dry.
Best wishes, Sharron
You are... You are doing so well! Dont feel guilty about 'using the bus'...Mary and I said we were just being sensible!!!! Yeah Right. Just had a great tramp up Mt Pirongia, with the Metherells and Co.....quite chilly back in Auckland..so lap up that sun.
Hope you have time to sit in the town square in Bugos, have a Cafe con Leche, and soak up the sites....a BIG city, with a lovely Cathedral..Enjoy...keep well...and k-e-e-p going....Love Janet Dalton
Good going! That was a great journal entry, thank you! You are both doing so well. I guess when you get on a bus for awhile it is a welcome rest. Hope the knee and toe are feeling better. I bet it was great to arrive at the hotel and be able to have a bath.
Penny is in Nice with Melanie, John and Natalie having a wonderful time. Team NZ won the first race last night by 8 seconds!!! It is going to be nail biting sailing I feel :)
Keep on with the great walking and thank you for the great update. I am following you on the map so it is all very interesting.
Much love Megan xx
