As the weather has become so miserable the last few days with thundery showers it was touch and go whether this match was on. The goodbyes seemed to be coming as long as the trip! We started on Monday staying goodbye to Ruth and Paul at the Constable Exhibition (very appropriate as mainly Suffolk) then going out for a meal with Gwen. Ian and Pam, Neil. boyfriend Paul, Leigh and I and of course Tamsin. We then went on to see the Blue Man Group at the theatre where Leigh and I saw Cats years ago. Returned from a week in the Lake District at Dale End Farm again with extended family on Leigh's side. Stanley and Nina and Sallie and Avi didn't come because of personal reasons and the troubles in Israel with Lebanon. Dale End residents consisted of Leigh and me, Judy and new partner Brian, Leslie, Varda and Doron who hosted this year, Judy's son Ian and girlfriend Clare, other son Alan and Dori our labradoodle. Last Wednesday went for four days to Wiltshire, primarily to visit Tyntesfield, the recently acquired NT property which is still being catalogued and brought up to standard plus going to buy some big terracotta rhubarb forcers from a pottery I found on the internet. Started with B&B outside Bradford on Avon staying with an ex RAF chap who looked and moved like a moustached moorhen. Well we made fifteen miles of this walk, having started rather late due to Judy's fast driving but missing the turning a couple of times. Not too many cars in the leisure car park and nobody dressed up as a duck or windmill - just a couple of nurse uniforms of the old variety. We were overtaken by a geriatric running club - one member looked as if he wouldn't make it to the end of the road but I presume they jogged the 7 mile circuit which is pretty impressive.
