hey!! sorry its been so long...we are terrible at remembering to do this...well actually im the only one that writes on it..so im terrible at remembering! neway..we left pai reluctantly and travelled back to chiang mai. By this point the Thai new Year (Songkram) was just beginning. Instead of their new year just being on one night like ours its over like four days and they celebrate it by throwing water over anyone n everyone in the streets, so you have to expect to get drenched wherever you go...dont wear bright patterned pants under a dress that clearly goes see-through when it gets wet like i did!! not so funny in a buddhist country!! So we left Bangkok and its sweltering heat on friday evening on the bus to Chiang Mai. It took 12 hours overnight on coach full of travellers which had reclining seats and air con...possibly the most grateful i've ever been for a bit of cold. It was a pretty uncomfortable nights sleep mostly due to my itchy, long dreads but before we knew it we arrived in Chiang Mai and were dropped off at Nice Place guesthouse. First thing i noticed was that a had a pool n realised we were going to have to stay here...Ward was in her element. Hello everyone!!! Well we are finally here..after what was the worst flight ever due to turbulance and our stupid idea to drink wine which gives u a headache on your descent dont u know!! silly us. We arrived to the most humid hot air..the kind that sticks in your throat, its such a shock after rainy england but air con is now my new best friend. Due to jet lag we spent most of the day yesterday asleep n then went exploring in the evening. We are staying at My house Guesthouse which is the perfect location to start our adventure. It's just off th Ko San road so we can walk everywhere but its down this cute little street so we're a bit more secluded..its just exactly what we wanted..thanks meaks n yan for the ... read more
