Bim Bam Boom - Charles Tan

Charles Tan I love traveling and hope that one day I would be well off enough to travel at anytime that I want. I may wake up in the morning in Penang, decided that I would like to have a nice beach dinner in Sandakan Sabah and actually going to the airport with my wife, purchase a ticket and have our dinner.... The next morning might be a lunch in Kota Kinabalu...... What a great life!

Lawrence's Wedding!  Asia » Malaysia » Perak » Ipoh
Hey, where's your tie? I asked Lawrence when I arrived at his wedding reception. He blurted something but I think he was too preoccupied with thousands of thoughts in his mind to care. As usual, Lawrence, being the most handsome friend I have need not do much and yet still look good! The bride, Lai Fun was spectacular in her wedding gown. Ah..... 'Thin Sang Yat Tui'. Haha.... The wedding went on smoothly. Met a number of people whom I have not met for quite sometime. There's Molly, as pretty as ever. Adrian, Vincent, Ben, Victor and more. Oh yeah, met [View Full Entry]

Vitrox Ping Pei Mooncakes Asia » Malaysia » Penang
Huh? Teach your colleagues on making Ping Pei? You are joking right? I have only made it once before. That was my reply when Mei Yun told me about her plan. Nevertheless, I was interested too. Why not I make it a few more times and then go and share? Note: It is SHARE, not teach. I love trying new things but I do not think I am the opening bakery type. Too tedious..... I bought the ingredients, made it one evening with Mei Yun's help and then gave 2 to my auntie and 2 to my mother as well as [View Full Entry]

Malaysian food is famous, especially due to its variety as well as the taste. In one word, simple irresistible. My brother in law, Chee Wei was studying feverishly for his Master in Engineering and his final exam ended on 29th August 2008. They decided to follow me and Mei Yun on a 'eat till you drop' trip to Perak. Perak in English is known as Silver. While we do not produce silver but the food Perak has to offer is well beyond even a Gold Medal. What did we have over a period of 2 days? Well, for food, let us [View Full Entry]

Egg Tart, Anyone?  Asia » Malaysia » Penang
Making Cake as Easy as ABC was my speech to Farlim Toastmasters Club. It inspired one member Yee Lin to make a buttercake! Hehe.... Next, I tried Cheesecake and after making it around 6 times, I trained two new 'Chefs' Jenny and Selina. Both have since graduated and made cheesecakes for their loved ones. What next? Well, why not Egg Tart? Healthy and good to eat. Plus, if one day I ever wanted to open a bakery, I needed to bake them anyway, right? Haha... With that, I downloaded a few recipes. Looked through and decided on one which I feel [View Full Entry]

If you have a team working for you for 1 year, they performed above expectations, what do you do? Give them a hug? Cheapskate! Give them a key chain? Wastages and redundancy. Give them an airplane ticket? Are you crazy? Toastmasters is a not-for-profit organisation. What about treating them to lunch? That sounds good but where? How about on top of a hill whereby your 1.3 litre car would struggle a little to go up? Plus, the fact that your mobile phone may have no signal? (Only one person's mobile phone though, haha). We arrived at around 1p.m. The handsome ones [View Full Entry]

Ping Pong tournament, are you sure? I have not even held a ping pong bat in my life! (From someone in finance dept) No, no, I cannot enter, I will be laughed at. (From Revatay of Sales) Do not listen to him, I am not good at all. (From Selina) The last time I played ping pong was during my primary school. (From Chi Wai, the semi-finalist) Many gave remarks, some positive and a few negative ones when the ping pong tournament was announced. The response was also slow. What would happen if there were only 10 participants by the tournament [View Full Entry]

Ever been to career fairs? What about the ones in China? Many times, we feel that jobs are aplenty. That as long as we continue to change jobs, we will get an ever increasing salary. With our current skills, we are supposed to be paid higher. Fresh graduates have an unlimited expectations on the salary and benefits and have forgotten that they have yet to gain any working experience. Reality hits when you remain unemployed for 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or more simply because you find the offer to be too low. Work first, gain the experience. As long [View Full Entry]

Let me through........
Still so many........

Tomorrow, we have to wake up early, Mei Yun said. Ok.... I replied. The next day was Renesas's Team Building event. Why did I agree to sign up? Hmm... so early, so far away, may be tiring, so many concerns but then again, how could I refuse the invitation from two handsome incoming Area Governors? Ee Liang and Yap. Thinking of their face made me say Yes, immediately. In the morning, we woke up late but still managed to rush and arrived earlier than some LATE people. Haha. The first game was an easy one and yet we lost! It involved [View Full Entry]

125%, YES!! Asia » Malaysia » Penang » George Town
February is the Chinese New Year month. For sales people, well this is just another month with a HIGH target. Penang sales team was behind in our monthly achievement. We were behind in January and as at final week of March, it was unlikely that we would be able to catch up. Jenny was not around and her sales figure was not up to mark. YY said, come on guys, at least hit 100%. The wind of fortune suddenly changed. Suddenly, the sales started trickling in. Slowly..... but surely. 'Jenny Revatay, come on, more sales....... ' Chia Lih was teasing Revatay. [View Full Entry]

Is this Joanne? Mei Yun asked. I looked at the article and there she was. Joanne was in some sort of press conference. I read the article further and found out that it was the 4th Penang International 12 Hour Walk. I quickly called Joanne and got her to fax to me the form to which I promptly signed up. To get a medal, we need to finish 24 Km within 12 hours..... Ladies - 18 hours. How HARD could that be? Next was to get a few more crazy people to join me. It was so easy to TRICK a [View Full Entry]
