Even more jaded in Venice...tourists everywhere, damn them! It was hot and crowded, after making our way to Piazza San Marco we wandered back through the San Croce neighbourhood. We were rewarded, it seemed much more like the "real" Venice - friendly bakery (delicious lunch and espresso!!) no one understood English and the buildings were "delightfully shabby", just as our guidebook promised. Lake Garda is a beautiful clear lake, we had great weather for swimming. From our campsite here we could visit Verona and Venice. So we did. [View Full Entry]

After 6 glorious days in Prague, we headed off to Cesky Krumlov in South Bohemia to find the weather was rotten and the campsite was beautiful, but pretty average facilities-wise. Although on the banks of the misty and picturesque lake Lipno, Coco summed it up by saying "the lake looks pretty from the tent but when you go down there, there's lots of gross stuff" (the lake isn't actually dirty, but loads of fishermen means lots of scales, bones and beercans line the shore). We really loved Prague, hd a couple of days in the city, which were brilliant...boat cruise on the Vltava, "funicular railway" up petrin hill, Don Giovanni marionette show + loads more! The campsite was the highlight though, brilliant weather and relaxation... [View Full Entry]
