QUESTION
I am planning a trip to Cuba and Panamá. I think Playa Blanca is in Panamá, right? Or is it in Colombia? How did you get there? Thank you.

Hi
Playa Blanca is in Panama, yes. We crossed to Panama in Sapzurro but only for a day as you cannot really travel much more from there. Going through Darien is not advised because of guerillas. You would have to fly to Capurgana - that is the only way. cheers, B&T

Fabulous choices!
As usual, you're giving great tips because I totally agree that views, wood fires and an exotic setting are the best (I washed my hair in freezing water the other night, but was staying as a guest in a tiny town on Lake Titicaca). I can hardly wait to follow in your footsteps to the hummingbird park and the hikes. You two are the best path finders! Keep up the good work!

I guess if you believed all that you read no one would ever go to Columbia
Looks wonderful. Can't wait to read more.

The challenge of the budget
As you say it can be tough but rewarding. You've done very, very well the last year+. Finding a good room around holidays can be tough if not booked in advance. Glad you saw a lot of animals and birds.

Changing perspectives
Travel teaches you not to sweat the small stuff. Don't worry about the things you cannot change. Sorry you didn't see more animals.

We visited Peru prior to blogging
Arequipa was one of our favorites and we loved seeing the condors fly at the Colca Canyon. Sorry you were so restricted.

You guys have really been busy while we were traveling
Sometimes theft is an act of opportunity. We don't leave our things unattended. Sometimes it is tough but it is always necessary. It is difficult to stay away from those cute puppies. Sorry to hear about your injury.

Tuzipa tours
Looks like it was worth the expense. I love flamingos. What a marvelous experience.

Nothing worse than getting sick on the road
When in Peru we loved the vibrant colors of SA.

Amazing sunrise over the river
Yep, glad you got up to take that one. You are master photographers. I'm sure you'll publish a book on return. [photo=7335083]

Can't believe everything you hear
As you've proven it is best to check it out yourself. Everyone has different impressions. We'll join you in eating those mangos.

Looks like you are becoming birders
Fantastic photos. Hope you don't run out of passport space. Any place you can stop and have pages added?

Friendship and chemistry
What a joy to make such good friends while traveling. It happens to us frequently and those are the best friendships. So far so good with meeting your budget.

Dave has a friend in Uruguay
He's always wanted to go visit. Love the story about why you wanted to go to Uruguay. It does seem exotic. Your advice to have a miscellaneous budget is very important. On this most recent RTW those expenses were much higher than our first RTW.

We're told the dancers will find you
We long to go to Argentina. Hopefully, soon. We will gain some tips from reading your blogs. We love exploring grave sites when we travel.

Sydney...one of the world's great cities
Each continent, country and city have something special to appreciate. Eating a home cooked meal should never be taken for granted. After eating out for month after month we longed for roots and the ability to do some cooking.

No rush no fuss
It is impossible to pick the "right" amount of time to explore an area. Seems we always want a little more. Your last sunset in Asia was beautiful but who know what the future holds and you may return. Now to SA cultures and lovely people.

Love, love, love the turtles
Your shark photo is great also. Hope you are planning to write a book on your return. We will have to add this to our travel plan.
