Puno was one of my favorite places. Small enough to get around the main areas, big enough to have a lot of interesting things going on. The best part about Puno was the abundance of totally non-tourist geared markets. When we first came upon the streets close to the lake, we thought, oh no, more craft stalls. But as we got closer, we could see the streets were filled with old clothes and used childrens toys spread out on blankets. After several blocks of swap meet type wares, we came to a section of food stalls and fruit stands. After that we even found several streets dedicated to pure junk! Heaps of metal and piles of old shoes mingled with broken phones and a variety of stuff we couldn't even name. A perfect place to buy
