South America

Well, this is it. Six years after abandoning a plan to travel to South America to coincide with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil (in favour of a six-week road-trip up the West Coast of Australia) the time has finally come for me to embark upon my longest (and most long-awaited) holiday yet: a 5-6 month backpacking trip through South America, taking in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile.

The Plan? Start in Colombia on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, and follow the Andes all the way south until I reach the Chilean capital of Santiago... where I hope to catch up with a Chilean friend of mine that I've been promising to catch up with for a beer for the past ten years! Let's just hope I haven't run out of money by then...
