This summer, Axel is working in beautiful San Diego as a part of the staff for CORTRAMID - basically an opportunity for all NROTC students who have completed their first year to be exposed for a month to all of the Naval Communities (Aviation, Submarine, Marine and of course SWO). Because Axel wanted to have his car with him, we decided to steal the opportunity todrive cross country (well, 2/3 of the way at least) from Columbia, Missouri to San Diego, California. The Mississippi Delta was shining Like a National guitar, I am following the river Down the highway Through the cradle of the civil war, I'm going to Graceland Graceland In Memphis Tennessee I'm going to Graceland! Axel was sent to Memphis, Tennessee to assist with a lateral promotions board for two weeks. In the middle, Laurie flew in on her way back from Maryland to check out Graceland and enjoy a few special treats. The Steiner Family in its entirety went to Harbour Island in the Bahamas (http://www.harbourislandguide.com/) for the celebration of the family matriarch, Gilberte's 80th birthday, post Christmas and New Years. The week was filled with joy, celebration, sunshine and snorkeling. The entire clan stayed at the Coral Sands Resort and we literally drank the hotel under the table  http://coralsands.com/.
