For some reason I didn't read this one when it was published. I went into my favorites today to see what you had been up to and was happy to find this blog. This candle festival sounds intriguing. We may have to attend that some day. The kids looks like they are enjoying themselves. Happy Travels.

Yes tita Lili, precisely why Japanese traditions are so well preserved. If you go to these festivals, its amazing to see that a lot of their young people are already taking part in these events.
Too happy to hear from Osaka again! Glad to know you and your family are back to "normal mode". Traditions are important and children ought to learn them while still young. That's how we pass them from one generation to the next. Hello to your family!
Phew! Although I don't personally know anyone from Japan, I was wondering if any of this TB community had been caught up in that horrific tragedy. I'm glad to see you and your family are safe and sound. Thanks for the blog, Boracay is stunning.
good to hear from you again Hi aries. Good to hear from you again, and to know you are safe and enjoying the sun and sands of Boracay. Even for at least 2 days. What happened to your adopted country is truly sad. And I only have this great respect and admiration for the Japanese. Their strength of character, discipline amidst adversity is one for the books.
Living in Osaka Dear Aries and Rinka,
My name is Brian Doyle and I am a study abroad student from Minnesota, USA. I came across your blog and noticed the wonderful pictures of Kyoto. For the past 3 months I have been residing in Osaka, Japan. I visited Kyoto once before but was unable to see the golden temple or other temples around that area due to time constraints. I really want to go back when the cherry blossoms are blooming, but I would really like to know if you have and tips or ideas of where the best places are to visit? Thank you for your help and consideration.
Cordially,
The International
Great blog, Aries! Just what I need. Been meaning to visit Osaka when I get the chance and this preview serves me well. More blogs, Aries. You just made it to front page. Congratulations!

Wow! I was thrilled while reading your blog! I love travelling and I hope someday I could see more places. You're so blessed to have such a wonderful families both here and there and one thing I'm sure of...it's because you're also a nice and caring person. Nice pictures you posted! Awesome Japan!
FISH EGGs!!! Happy New Year Lucea family... ok now let's figure out how are you going to send those fish eggs here. I remember me and my wife ate Rinka's fish eggs in your New York appt. They were awesome!!! FedEx can do the job, you know my address.... aight!
Thanks Tita Lili, Happy New Year and I've finally been able to read your well reviewed photo essay of Europe. The praises are very well deserved. Hope to see you soon here in Osaka
yummmy Hi there. I was drooling just reading your blog and viewing the photos. You are so right. The Japanese eat with their eyes. Perhaps you should do a blog soon about Japanese dishes. I should soon grow tired of soba, sukiyaki, tempura and my knowledge of sushi and sashimi is quite limited to a few selections. Tell us more about what to eat in your part of town and where. Ha ha ha. Your Tita Lili is hankering for Japanese food now :))
yummy I'm glad you brought your wife to Abe. It is one of my fav restos here in Manila. And it is true, we always celebrate with food. Too much of it, indeed. Yummy !
I enjoyed your Osaka post and photos. Universal Studios Japan looks like it transported your straight to the one here in Los Angeles! The aquarium looked pretty neat! My blog is looking for travel reviews, photos, etc, to share. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels!
Heather :)
Having lived for so long in New York apart from people we know. Now, we want to update our family and friends on our adventures as we now make a life here in Osaka with our son, Akira and daughter, Hannah. Still quite on our own, my family being from the Philippines and Rinka from the Kyushu area.
Blog is the best way to show photos we've taken or actually been in it. I hope you guys enjoy them.
