Nice to see you guys enjoying yourselves Hey man its me Emanuel how you guys doing eh? :)
Glad to see you've had a good year in Asia
I'm up for meeting you again sometime in the future, whether in HK, China, the UK or Canada. (LOL)
Email me again ok? XD Haha
Emanuel Leung
4 hours will seem like a few fleeting seconds if you return to the uk by the new 'Terminal 5', but i think i recall you will be using gatwick, so you will be ok.
seats are very important in Chinese train There are lots of work to do before you travel in train. You're very lucky to get seat with number. In my knowledge, all passengers to ride a train at start station are allowed to enter 40 min before. I guess you missed the notice badly.
Chinglish could be seen anywhere, especially in Tai'an.
Chinese people are accustomed to speak loudly, just as they are accustomed to hear foreign people speaking politely:)
Hey its me Hey guys its me haha... whatever happened to the photos we took in HK man? I was waiting for you to put them up so I can copy and paste them haha.
Japan I've not commented much but I've really been enjoying your posts; you sound like you're having a much better time than I had and I'm glad. I can't wait to hear about Japan but a small warning: if you find yourself somewhere called Izu, don't watch a video ;)
Thankyou Thankyou for our exciting looking parcel, it arrived today - it says to wait until Christmas to open it but due to international delivery times this is now a very long way away so i will probably open it tonight (with Tom) or when the kettle has finished boiling (by myself as am not always patient).
Looking forwards to news of your latest exploits and plans for the rest of your trip - missing you loads - there are games to run and science to be done (which may sound like nonsense to you if you cannot get 'Portal' over there, but will make sense when you come home).
Love and kisses - Tom and Kate xx
We will probably get anything you send us about when you are returning then, are you sure you have our correct address? 1, Clockhouse Mews?
I wasn't thinking of sending a whole cake, but i'm sure you could put a couple of well wrapped slices in, Christmas cake keeps forever anyway!
No post? Mreew! I sent you a birthday card! I couldn't find any here so I made one with pretty pictures! I took it to the post office and he covered it with stamps and I put it in the box! Sulk. It was definitely airmail and not land mail too. I will try and do as you suggest, though isn't Christmas cakes rather heavy for the post??
We're quite enjoying having license to be Unnecessarily English here sometimes, as everyone acts as if they expect Foreigners to be weird in some way and are kind of disappointed if we're too boring. If you could've seen the bottom of the picture you might have noticed that Chris was wearing English Male Sandals, though without socks.
Mreow? Gosh you guys look English.
Please write your address on a piece of paper and take a picture of it so we can read it, maybe we can find a way of sending you Christmas cake, although if you have ever written to us (i think you said you did), we haven't got anything yet, so it may be that the government is intercepting your mail. *nods seriously*
Good thinking with the writing questions down bit. Give them time with the speaking.
I have a new Chinese boy in my class here in Bristol. He didn't understand anything I said when he arrived - but now he's picking up some confidence and some practice -he's coming on leaps and bounds.
It's raining here too!!! Good to see you've taken all the gear for wet weather!!
The ramada looks fantastic - who says there's no such thing as a free lunch anymore!!
teaching tips sts always work better in small groups/pairs: it's a question of not losing face. Do not worry about this! They also will relax when they know you better. How on earth are you going to organise a speaking assessment for these numbers? That could be very tricky, but I know a lot about it if you want some ideas. Do they generally take the IELTS test at all? I examine that here in the UK.
Enjoyed all the pics a lot. It really helps to imagine your life there. Hope you enjoyed weekend by the sea, Love, JOyce
Thanks Amy its great to keep up with you.I had quite the wrong impresson of what you would find but I think Joyce would recognise the shyness.Certainly cold do with meals at 80p.Ppent 7.25 in the pub on horrid mushroom ravioli yesterday.Jen pleased to get accepted to help with the books at the York minster library yesterday and is looking forward to her trip to USA.Out of space
Love to you both Peter
Nice to hear you survived your first week teaching. I've just got through my first week back. It gets easier from here on in, once you get to know the students better.
great No trouble getting this so it must be easy!Great to see.It all looks much more comfortable than I expected.Must have seen too many programmes about far flung rural outposts
"For a no doubt self-evident reason, one is only allowed onto the platform a couple of minutes before one's train is due to depart."
...you mean...
*it's just like taking First Great Western to Bristol on a Friday Night!?!*
gosh.
(sorry. And thank you for the v. interesting blog entries)
Sure. Internet here isn't amazing, let me know if it doesn't reach you ok. Glad you liked it as much as we did! There's a lot of that sort of thing about. A sign at the exit of Tai'an train station invites one to 'throw out by punnel'. We decided to leave through the underpass instead!

It sounds fantastic. I'm off to the beach volleyball tomorrow, hoping I don't get rained on & remembering Mr R's advice just in case.
