Life After People Thanks for blogging this! The History channel Life After People did a section on Pripyat, so see your pictures was really interesting.
my visit to Stockholm I want to visit Stockholm. Is this a good time/month?
I want to visit the Husvquana Viking Sewing center/factory/museum. Do you know if there is a place like this open for public tours?
Thank you, and your city sounds very interesting and exciting. /can't wait.

Could not see neither Knivkjellodden nor North Cape Hi Malte and the rest of you,
It was such a thick fogg at North Cape so I could not really see anything. I have been to North Cape but I can't really say that I have seen it. And try to see Knivkjellodden would not have been possible either. But now at least I can say that i have been there.
And you are right, it is not a place to live neither for people nor for little germs.

Nix.
We don't wanna go... but our grandpas' would We don't understand why anyone would like to go there... it's so could that very few people live up there. Hence there are so few to incubate, that it is hard to spread ourselves. Grandpa' says he would like to see Knivskjellodden instead of North Cape. We think that is odd too. Anyone could can a peninsula - but not anyone can see North Cape!
It is not safe to go to Yemen at this point Yemen has over the last couple of years been very unsafe for tourists. Several bloody attacks have been directed against tourists. I would myself not go there again anytime soon.

Wow! Thank you, dear Harvey, for having this forwarded. It is both amazing and so very frightening to read--especially for a "senior" who lived through all the years described and so much history--good and bad. With all the new technology and technological advances, who knows what is ahead. Humans vs. humans brings out the worst in humanity and the bet is sometimes hidden.
Tale of a flight over C Thank you for the comment, Harvey.
Harvey has made one more comment on this blog entry, but that was in an email sent privately to us. But we liked it so much that we would like others to read it too.
Harvey wrote: "In 1987, I flew from Bucharest to Moscow. The flight path passed over Chernobyl and it made me nervous. Since then, much of my hair has fallen out..."
Boktips Spännande redogörelse! Har ni sett att det kommit en ny bok om byn? "Banditer i byn". Läs mer här: www.alvinaforlag.se
Mycket fina foton från 10- och 20 talet!
Beautiful photos of Oman. Recently ,I was re-reading a book called "Sons of Sinbad" written in 1939 by Allan Villiers and Australian adventurer/seaman and renowned journalist. He referred in his book to the "dhow port" of Sur. I looked it up on the net and discovered your commentary and beautiful photos. Really impressive and informative. We have a connection with Oman here in Western Australia as our maritime Museum has had a long time research relationship with the Sultanates Maritme museum and the marine history of the region. Sailing is my absolute passion and also the history of sail .So it was my interest in dhows and the annual trade between Oman , Zanibar , Tanzania and the east African coast which brought me to your site. Thanks Mike
Buses etc. I want to sleep at the Hotel George too! and Swedish buses are all over Eastern Europe, I've seen old GÖ (Göteborgsregionens lokaltrafik) buses in Warsaw, for example. Still saying "Lerum".
haha it's really funny to see how other people see kyiv. I have lived here fro 2 years even though it feels like im from here. small things like calling Khrishatic just Khrishatic or the lavra or indapendance square not freedom square. and i know better than to swim in thr fountains cuz hobo's piss and bathe in them. ech.. anyways. i hope you enjoyed your stay in kyiv. i love it but it's a bit rough around the edges
Great Thanks a lot for this great blog. I grew up in Lviv and was there last year first time in 13 years (I now live in the US). Your pictures and story brought back a lot of memories of my childhood, things we did, places we went... Thanks again!
We are Emma Holmbro and Ake Dahllof. We live in Stockholm, Sweden.
We have travelled more or less regularly since the mid 1990-ies and it seems like the more we travel the more difficult it is to decide where to go next. Not because we are running out of places to visit but because we find more places we want to go to faster than we manage to travel to them.
Some of the things from our travel bucket list we have ticked off since we started this blog in 2006 are
Angel Falls in Ven... full info
