I'm a guy, 25, music-y, good natured, frequent maker of mistakes, avid trouble getter intoer, minimist of lingual stability, insecure at times and Mufasa at others. You know, THE USUAL. I started my journey in Boston, MA. Kinda liked it, so I stuck around for 18 years, until I was 18. Then, probably because of some masochistic tendencies, I went farther north to endure the even harsher winters of Burlington, VT. There I stayed for the next 7 years, getting into trouble in various easily avoidable situations. Now I'm off to Thailand to hopefully repeat the process.

Well it's been a while since my last post. Since then I've been a teacher and a student. I've sunbathed and painted people with florescent paint. Contemplated over an iced tea and the ocean. I've gotten to know new plants, new animals and new people. Travel, it's a good thing.... read more

The simple life. It's all you can do to sit on the porch and watch people go by. Reading a book is exciting. The only news is what the clouds look like, and it's always good news. Everything moves slow and has plenty of time to get there. Nothing's better than a good pair of shoes, or some fresh laundry, or a refreshing swim. There are no "should"s. Disdain fades into the past and Love cracks a smile. It's the simple life man, words can't describe it. I am, however, a product of a technological upbringing. So here, from my simple, sunny perch, I watch, starry eyed, as the western world cracks its caccoon and unfurls its techno-colored wings. Fly oh western world, fly. Heed Icarus' plight. Mad love to all my home boys and home ... read more

In Bangkok for a minute. Currently I'm a passerby. I'm waiting in the city for the train that will take me to my new home - a shared apartment in a remote village just south of nowhere in the northern bum lands of Thailand. There I will commence my exciting endeavor to educate the masses on English, the new world order. I believe English is also called "New Speak" in some circles. Hopefully the future will treat me well. I know that the past has. Since my last communication with you, the anonymous grey blob that is my readership, I've had the most diddly bombtastic time one could hope to have. I've roamed the streets of Patong - one giant, loud, party town that hookers call paradise. It's literally impossible to walk down the street once ... read more

I have moved on from Bangkok. With a bang I might add. Pun greatly intended. I've just endured a rousing 23 1/2 hour bus experience to Phuket, a large island just off the southern Peninsula of Thailand. They call it the gem of the Andaman (sea). This bus ride, though, wouldn't have been complete without the lack of toilets, the grumpy passengers, and the Thai girl that passed out in the aisle thus cunningly usurping my seat. Only a four hour stand. Also definitely can't forget about the van driver that tried to steal my hiking pack. All in all, not the worst bus ride I've ever been on. ... read more

Tuk Tuk rides, Buddha statues, spicy Thai food, fried peppered fish chips and flood waters abound. People here enjoy life. Right now I'm sitting in the hotel lobby, having a grand time with fellow tourists and the Thai staff. In between joking and laughing, the Thai staff stands outside in the flood waters cleaning up all the trash that floats by. The Thai are a clean people. I think they're using the salad bowl to do it though...... read more

Ok, Hawaii was the pure awesomeness. Seriously, it was pure. I'm talking 100% not diluted. Exotic fruits, skydiving over Oahu, paddle boarding down Anahulu, climbing waterfalls in Palolo, getting the dankest strawberry-blueberry-banana-orange smoothies EVER at the Coffee Gallery in Haleiwa, drinkin' beers on white AND BLACK sand beaches, hiking with cool people (Lauren and Ryder) to secret waterfalls in Kahalu'u, hanging out with old and new friends on the big island (That's you guys, Mike, Celia, Rusty, Tyler and Ashley (Alicia). Also mad love to my new homies Shadow, Ali'i, Melay and Cocoa.) SHEER TERRIFICITY. I had such a good time, I felt it warranted making up a new word. Make note, Merriam and Webster. Most of all, though, I gotta thank Mike for making it all possible. You rock, Mike. Thank you for letting me ... read more

Hawaii. Been here two days. So far Mike and I have: eaten guava, strawberry guava, and dragon fruit, drank ice cold fresh coconuts, swam copiously in the Pacific, jumped off mountainous cliffs into the clear, calm ocean, hiked barefoot through the jungle (which involved scaling sheer waterfalls using only the lingering soggy ropes and the power of our toes), paddle boarded down a river called Anahulu, and skydived over Oahu. Yup. ... read more

This is somewhat of a test blog entry. This is my first time having a travel blog and it makes me nervous and testy. On to the grit. I'm in Massachusetts and it's cloudy and rainy. Soon I fly to Hawaii where I rest for a week after these last few grueling weeks where the days were just packed watching TV and reading about Nelson Mandela. Then I'm off to the land of the Thai people. Siam. For now - I pack. ... read more
