There are many student activities offered at the college I will be attending. The activities range from debate, to sports, fitness clubs, and even a group of people coming together who are from the same area. A student activity that I would consider joining would be a fitness club. In college I want to be in shape because I know that I will be tempted to eat junk. Also if there was a sort of philosophy club then I would participate in it. I really like philosophy and feel that a lot can be learned from it. 1.)Friends) I have good friends at uic who make the days more bearable. When i graduate im going to miss them all. 2.) Academics) Despite some of the rules at the school, the academics is better then most public schools in Chicago 3.) (Teachers) There are some really great teachers who are at uic whom i will also miss. 4.) (Advisory) Even though i question sometimes why we may have advisory, itbis a great way to cool off from the long day. 5.) (location) Uic is in a safe location which i am grateful for. Over my Spring Break I had a lot of fun. I spent time with friends and family. I went out to a lot and even went to some parties. I did not get a chance to go out of state which kind of made me upset. Also on sunday I had a samily dinner which did not turn out the way I wanted, but the food was still good. For quarter four there are some things that I am looking forward too. I am looking forward to bringing up the rest of all my grades. I want to give a shout out to a few firecats, Mark Thompson and Darius Newsome. I want to give Mark a shoutout because he is strong and history, and our group work is always done to top performance. I want to give Darius a shoutout because of his noble performance in band, he plays the drums. They both exhbit noble qualties in some way or another. I believe in a lot of things, big and small. One thing I believe is that everyone has a purpose in life. Some people may disagree with this statement. You could say that people live out their lives without anything spectacular happening. I think that everyone was placed on this Earth to do something or fulfill some goal. I believe in a god. My article is about one of the victims of Kony in Africa. The man was abducted as a boy and feels that justice should be served for the horrible crimes Kony committed to the people of Africa. My current event does not relate to much to what we have been learning in history. I say this because Kony is ine man while we tend to focus on empires in history. We did learn about the slave trade in Africa which is the same setting as Kony's crimes. There is evidence of cause and effect in my article. 1.) Modern slavery is different from previous slavery because of the forms that it is rrvealed in now and days. 2.) This movement of stopping human sex trafficking connects to President Lincoln because President Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery everywhere. Human sex trafficking is a form of slavery in which the people involved has little to no pwer to stop it at all. Even though the context of the Emancipation Proclamation may have been different the overall meaning still applies. 3.) some of the reasons books are baned because it may have content deemed inapropriate. it could be because of sexual content, languange, or themes that could be offensive to some. i agree with some of the reasons because some books may take it to far,and be flat out offensive. some books on the otherhand may seem offensive, but its for educational reasons. i think parents pressure teachers the mostbecause they are worried about what there kids are learning. if you want to fight book bannings then you can go to the school distrcit and go against it or legal action.... read more

I don't agree fully with what Castiglione's description of what makes a man ideal. I say this because there have been many great many across the world who were very different. I think being great is how you conduct yourself and the ones around you. There is not set description that makes a man great automatically. I think that maybe in the world there are men like this today, but you just have to find them. He thought men should act like that because it was maybe virtuous.
