Pods from JFK to NRT
This is DEFINITELY the way to fly... Good lord, there are a lot of mopeds here...I almost died 5 times this morning whilst touring around Saigon. Thank g-d Jeff was there to pull me out of the way. No seriously. It's unbelievable. Picture New York City foot traffic....now put them on mopeds and maybe give 'em some speed. I'm serious. Words can't describe it.
There were some highlights however...we got to see the Reunification Palace which was home to South Vietnamese goverment officials until the North Vietnamese Communist tanks arrived in 1975. We also checked out the War Remnants Museum which shed some light onto the atrocities of the Vietnam War. Very uplifting stuff I tell ya'. Jeff thinks that it's perfect for our honeymoon. HAH!
We made it back to the airport unscathed to catch our short flight up to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam and bussling metropolis with a bit of French colonial flair. We're hoping there are fewer people on mopeds. Or maybe just some streetlights so that I don't have to keep following old Vietnamese ladies crossing the street.
More on Hanoi later...
Oh yeah, and we can't figure out how to post photos onto the site from our iPad.
HCMC Market
Lots fish... We'll keep working on it.
