Nha Trang was our first real beach stop and we thought it would be a good place to take our Padi diving course as it is one of the best places to dive in Vietnam.
Nha Trang was definately the busiest place when it comes to night life in Vietnam so far as there are a few beach bars open into the early hours, and a cool beach party place called the sailing club which sells a concoction of local spirtis and watered down mixers in big 'jam jars'. Tom now 2 months without strongbow has become even more of a light weight and got wasted on about 3 jars (shared!), will have to sneak a photo onto facebook.
Learning to dive was not as easy as i had thought it was going to be. I hate my eyes going under the water and when you dive with Padi you have to prove to them that your safe in the open water and could get out of danger if something was to go wrong. So we had to do a lot of 'Skills' and an exam at the end to pass, one of the skills was to remove your
mask fully underwater and put it back on then clear the water out by blowing hard out of your nose.. this was horrible and I nearly gave up on our last open water dive 15 metres under the sea as i didn't want to have to do this 'skill' again! By the end of our time in Nha Trang we were qualitied divers and have seen some amazing underwater life... see pics
Other than diving (it's cheaper in Vietnam than most other countries but still not as cheap as Thailand for anyone wanting to learn), the most amazing french steak restaurant can be found here and we had steak and douphinois potaoes and a nice bottle (or two) of wine 3 nights on the trot. YUM!!
Enjoy xx

The dreaded skills!
Looks like all the underwater life made up for the PADI diving course. I hated all the skills too, especially the mask clearing part, but it is definitely worth it in the end!
