He's not real...
this is a wax representation of a revered monk (Swena) I'm going to start with a little disclaimer. if it sounds like my life hasn't been as interesting as kev and dustin's over the last week or so, it's bacause i've been spending a lot of time indoors, which as earned me the effectionate title of "indoorsman" by my traveling buddies. the reason is that walking hasn't been a lot of fun since my little moped accident. i've been doing a lot of reading. but i'm doing much better now and am almost all healed up. we've been in the little coastal town of Krabi for the last two days. It's a very quiet place with nice people and clean streets. we've found some great places to eat as well. our first night we stayed in a place that leaked from the ceiling. there was even water on the light switch. dustin went to turn it on and he zapped himself. it was hilarious. our second night we found a much better place to stay and it was cheaper so we were very happy. today we visited a whole bunch of caves, walked on some jungle trails and climbed almost half a mile's worth of stairs. needless to say we're
Tiger Cave
there is a legend that a tiger used to live in this cave, which has been turned into a buddhist place of worship very tired. but we wanted to make sure that we took the time to post our travel blog so you guys back home would know that things are going good with us. as i'm writing it's actually, almost 10:00 pm and we still don't have a place to stay. we need to catch a taxi to the town where we're planning on staying. should be interesting....

Well Krabi is definitely low key compared to all the other areas we've been except for maybe Melaka. We're still eating cheap and lots which has been good considering all those people who's cooking we've come to love are just not here at the moment. After walking around the first day here I got some hoots and whistles from the more "mature" women in a little shop. Strangly enough I wasn't wearing my "Kiss me I'm Canadian" shirt that always seems to be a magnet for ahem.....umm those types. Well just for Mr. Finch, I have to say thank you for the Lonely Planet Thailand, they have yet to steer us wrong on good food or places to stay, but I'll be sure to give you a thorough talking to if it

there are hundreds of these guys at Wat Thum Seua does (see how peoples tone changes when life doesn't go their way). For the first time in a while ice cream was on the menu though, thats a good sign for the rest of us (said right on it that it was recommended by the New York times, who knew). We actually wanted to watch a movie in the restaurant and since we got to choose it, we would have felt a little bad not ordering anything. Over all things have been pretty smooth, Canadians have started popping up all over the place around here and I agree now that you can tell them apart by how they talk. That Wat Thum Seua was a real walk, some guy told us it wasn't steep, in hindsight I think he was just trying to get some money because thats a negative on the smooth sloping stairs. I must admit though that their was an amazing view at the top and it makes you feel like you've seen the whole area. Who knows, we might have to swing through again after seeing Borneo and Sumatra.

Dustin mentioned that we have been eating well lately...man he is not joking. Tonight
i had fried rice with vegetables, green curry with rice, a cheese sandwich and a really large banana shake (the whole meal cost about 3 dollars). It feels really good having an appetite again, being sick was not fun! Krabi is really low key, it is super clean and extrordinarily quiet. I went for a really long walk the first day we got here, i went so far i started regretting the walk back...thankfully a local picked me up and took me back most of the way. I love the way travel lets you run into random people like that, this particular guy worked with handicap people and friendliness exuded from him...i guess thats why i felt safe in accepting the ride.
It felt good to do some true exploring today. We have been chilling on beaches for about two weeks now, so it was good to see something a little more wild. The jungle was alive with sound, and the suns rays filtering through the trees was beautiful. The best part of the day for me however was climbing the 1237 steps to the Buddah viewpoint. Along the way we ran into some crazy little monkees, a snake,
and some fellow canadians. Well i am out.
Talk to you later
~love Kev
