Can't add pics at the moment so hope text will do Hi There Apologies for the delay in updating the blog - we have been really busy!!?? I am sitting here overlooking the beach and Andaman Sea and it is 84.2 degrees we have had breakfast and had a walk along the beach. Difficult to know where to start - quick run down of where we have been Bangkok - a really fun city - really modern with huge sophisticated shopping malls selling everything - like Harrods on steroids and big! However life is lived on a human scale with sweet corn, banana fritters, rice, chicken and all sorts of other food being sold from street vendors and it’s all good. Every evening lots of little stalls and you can even had your fortune told ... read more

Rain stopped play today and after watching Andy and Nix play too many games of cards, Paul sat by himself for an hour or so to save his sanity. We then made the decision to finally leave our little corner we called home. The storm was pretty intense and kept us indoors all day. ABout 6pm we went to tthe village to type up our journal and check on our emails. After 10 nail biting minutes the camera pictures were finally burnt onto CD (though not before the guy in the shop said he lost the pics and managed to wipe them off the camera!) Mission accomplished we reurned to a special going away meal of the amazing Massaman curry. After afew drinks we returned to our bungalow, saying farewell to what was our last night ... read more

Waking up on our own desserted island was wonderful, though discovering 10 minutes later that the yanks had stolen our double kayak! ahh very peed off not happy as we were left with 2 single kayaks with emma and her little weak arms to cope of their own! NOt liking americans at mo - useful for nothing. Anyway obstacles are placed in our path to be conquered, so me and Emma ventured into the sea in seperate kayaks. After realising Emmas kayak was broke we switched kayaks and struck out for the Koh Yao Noi coastline. We were going to spend the morning exloring nearby islands but by this time we were really hacked off and just wanted to get to dry land. 40minutes later we landed, after quickly deservicing our kit (and slogging the yanks ... read more

Exploring time!!! Awake at 0900 (gasp) we were shopping for supplies by 11. Remembering though we were on a very small very Thai island with a small market street and considering I have only shopped in a supermarket this was quite hard but also fun! Bananas straight from the tree!, rice that comes from big industrial bags that have come straight from the paddy fields and they measure what you want. Chicken that they chop off the whole chicken in front of you! (quite gross) and a great big fish that I picked myself from the bags of fish just delieverd by the fisherman and in bags on the floor! (so Just the basics, chicken, fish and rice, water to drink and cook with......just like in the corps! Around 12 we were getting briefed up on ... read more

Despite our best intentions we didnt get up till gone 1000, our earliest reville in days- but still not bright and earlyas planned!! After a predomitabley egg based breakfast for me (protein) we headed round to the kayak hiring place run by a scottish girl Kitty, who informed us that the day kayaks had already been rented out for the day, (obviously some people on Koh Yao get up early!) Armed with our premade lunches we headed off to a nearby beach having decided to embark on the overnight trip the following night with the American couple(Sofie and Noah). The 4 of us sunbathed and swam for the day, a typical afternoon on a Thai beach! Emma had her massage on the "thai chi" platform and wedetermined to defiantley make it to the elusive "sunshine bar" ... read more

I am writing this blog Monday night! so not much springs to mind about what happened on Day 10 of the 'Big Adventure' We did however have a productive few hours in town during whuch time we updated our travelblog and caught up with our emails. Despite our best attempts we only made it as far as our favourite spot! - Sabai Corner Another very relaxed evening spent drinking and eating and chatting with Colin and our new found friends - Neil and Steve. However our peaceful atmosphere was broken by two new young drunk German lads. They invited themselves to our table aided with a bottle of cheap jaegermeister! They were hilarious though, one of them looked and sounded exactley like a younger version of Borat! The other lad looked like he came straight out ... read more

Another quiet "Sabai" day. An attempt at sunbathing was aborted midway through when emma noticed big black clouds headed our way. A turn in the weather forced activities indoors for the afternoon. A quick game of Jenga is the only event that springs to mind. So a couple of hours later we sat down to dinner. We spent the evening swapping stories with the 1st two genuinley interesting people we met. A few drinks later we retired to bed, tired but very content! Ps, oh yeah we also had a M A S S I V E spider in our bathroom!!!!!... read more

Today we werent as burnt, more 3rd degree than secound!! Feeling brave we ventured onto the beach, wrapped up like Thai construction workers!! Exploring the coast back towards town revealed no spot suitable for sunbathing, so after a quick dip in the rocky sea(still clothed!!), we wanderd back to the bungalow. The afternoon was spent eating and chilling downstairs. A quick jaunt into town allowed us to check our e-mails and start typing up our journal. Night time was the now traditional routine, dinner at 830, then beers and chit chat with Colin and any guests wanting to join us. It is worth noting the amazing Massaman curry we had, probably the best Thaiu food weve ever eaten!! (3 pounds between the two of us!!!) THOUGHT FOR THR DAY "we could really do with a pack ... read more

On Tuesday morning we awoke to the after affects of our over indulgence in the sun!! Like an over zealous partygoer being forced to suffer for their excess the previous night, emma and I crisply, slowly, got out of bed, only to be greeted by.......... ahh more sun! Its funny the affect 24hrs can have on your outlook. Todat the sun would be treated with less clamour and excitement for we were B.U.R.N.T NOt so much a pink or red, rather a dark rose red probably the worst type of sunburn! The next 10minutes would be spent wincing through gritted teeth as we took turns in liberally applying our aftersun. Needed someone to blame for our current condition, we elected to blame the fish! If we hadnt spent so long chasing them we wouldnt be in ... read more
