Out of Bangkok :)

After what seemed far longer than 2 days we left Bangkok at 7pm last night. Bangkok on the whole is probably a nice city - if a bit crazy - but we were on the main tourist track which became exhausting after the first day. Tom was asked if he wanted a suit an average of 4 times every time we left the hostel. Our taxi driver who took us to the station yesterday referred to the tuk tuk drivers and tour operators there as the khao san mafia - which was fitting.

We took a night bus to Chumphon which arrived at 2.30 am and waited until 5am for the connecting minibus (see picture attached) and finally a boat brought us to Ko Tao where we arrived at 10am. Joey managed to sleep most of the way but Tom is soldiering through on about 3 hours. Luckily we have no plans to go anywhere too soon - its absolutely beautiful here. Just had lunch and off to have a thai massage before another dip in the sea. Hoping to rent a moped to see the island as its very small and hardly any traffic....also looking forward to taking a kayak out one day and maybe having a snorkel another.
