koh tao

hello!
we arrived in koh tao yesterday having got up at 5oclock to get the boat from chumphon!! we got a catamaran boat which took about 2 hours (it can take upto 7 hours if you take the night ferry - no thank you!!!)
when we arrived it was raining so got off the boat with my umbrella - good girl guide, always prepared!!! we'd organised some accomodation the night before but when we got there they'd f'ed it up and had only one room for the 4 of us and were gonna charge something ridiculous so we left there and wandered in the rain to find a new place!! we found the silver sands and they had a room for 800 baht a night which would sleep four of us so we took it (200 baht each a night - just over 2 quid!!!) the sun came out in the afternoon so we hit the beach but some of the girls got a tad sunburnt - typical on the first day of proper sun!!!
went for dinner last night (the first meal ive had thats not icluded rice!!!!) and then met up with other volunteers that are here doing the conservation project - had a few drinks but were in bed by about 1 - knackered from the night before having got up at 5am!!!
today its been pissing it down so far this morning but its brightening up s0o we're hoping for some sunshine this afternoon again!!
off for my breakfast now - found a place that does english tea in big massive mugs - so tea and toast for me i think!!
on tuesday we're going to koh phangan for the full moon party - we've booked accomodation - phang-an villas near bai tai (a bit away from the full moon beach coz we couldnt get any accom nearby at such short notice - thanks dad for all the info though!!!)
will update you all on how it goes!!!
